The real deal! 2001 F-250 7.3 Powerstroke
I initially removed my valve covers with the intention of retorqing my rocker arms and retaining bolts for the injectors, but while I had it opened up I decided to swap out glow plugs as well! The only catch was that I needed same day delivery. So after looking over some aftermarket plugs that were available same day I came across these Motorcraft plugs at an excellent price! Ordered at 6am and by 5pm they were on my doorstep, Amazon is the best! These are genuine, the packaging has the telltale sign (if you know, you know ๐).Installation was not bad at all! I'm still extremely new when it comes to doing repairs myself. Once again, the 7.3 proves to be extremely forgiving to the novice mechanic! If you are doing this for the first time, a piece of advice: get yourself a piece of tubing that will fit snuggly around glow plug tip (see photo I attached). The reason being that your socket is going to get caught on your injector and you won't be able to untwist it the last little distance so you need something to be able to unscrew the last little bit of the glow plug to remove it. I'm pretty sure there's an expensive tool specifically designed to do this, but who wants to spend money when they don't have to?Can't go wrong with Motorcraft, I am extremely satisfied! Now my truck can start when it's cold :) Here are the torque specifications (per Haynes repair manual) just in case:Torque Specifications:-Glow Plugs: 124 in-lbs-Injector Retaining Bolt: 120 in-lbs-Rocker Arm Bolts: 20 ft-lbs

Arrived in individual Motorcraft packaging. Made a world of ...
Dec 27 2017 Update. Still working great. Can cold start in single digits without being plugged in with just a couple cycles of the relay. Before replacement I had to be plugged in at 30 degrees to even think of starting.Arrived in individual Motorcraft packaging. Made a world of difference on cold starts of my 96 F250 7.3. Only tricky part of install was the passenger side valve cover removal and replacement. Rear bolt is only visible from under the truck. Use a 1/4" drive and be ready for a tight fit. Had to run my left arm under the valve cover with driver and right hand over the cover to guide and hold in place. That one bolt takes longer than all others combined. When reinstalling that back bolt leave all other bolts loose and access it from under the truck to get it started.

Great price on these OEM glow plugs
Great price on these OEM glow plugs. Just purchased a 97 F250 7.3 Powerstroke and the glow plugs had never been changed with almost 200k miles on them. Once it started getting cooler, the engine did not want to start, and when it did crank over it burned some smoke! Replaced all 8 in about 4 hours with some cursing and yelling at the hard to reach valve cover bolts. A tip to remember: get a 6 inch piece of rubber fuel line to finish unscrewing the old plugs after they are broken loose by the socket. That alone will save you quite a bit of frustration. Make sure you have some extensions and some wobble adapters for your socket set. This is a doable job for most people that have a knowledge of tools and basic mechanics knowledge. If you can change your brakes and your oil, you should be able to tackle this with some time and patience.

Buy OEM
long story short if you need to replace glow plugs like in my case I have ford 7.3 and learn the hard way at least on parts like the glowplugs use OEM or you will have problems like the tips swelling up and sticking inside the head. luckily for me I was able to drillthe inside of the glow plug housing put a dab of JB weld in it thread it back in the cylinder and sit over night then the next day I was able topull the tip back out of the cylinder head. not sure if it was pure luck or that's the way to do it but all the mechanics I talked to were telling me I had to pull the head off the engine too fix it.

idk
so i ordered these thinking one or two of the 8 of my glow plugs would be bad. When i recieved package everyrhing was fine. Oem is always nice but having two of the same glow plugs is also nice. i revieved two diffrent glow plugs one with bigger threads.
