DariceEmbossing Folder, 4.25 by 5.75-Inch, Snowflake Swirl Design - Pack of 1

There's a set of Christmas cookies I saw on line years ago that I have wanted to make. I have been searching for a long time for all the equipment I'd need to make them as close to exactly like the photo as possible. I could never find the embosser that made the snowflakes on the fondant...until I thought out of the box! I wondered if a scrapbooking embossing plate would work on fondant...THIS ONE SURE DOES! And it's the exact one in the photo - whoohooo! Granted it's a much smaller embosser than we are used to using on fondant, but it does a great job and it's the same one they used on the cookies! So, I'm over the moon about this purchase! This discovery has opened a new world of possibilities in my baking :) LOL and a new threat to my pocket book!

This folder embosses the heck outta the paper. Like to the point that it is flimsy and tears in many spots. The design is beautiful, but I've yet to emboss something (even with the rubber sheet) that didn't tear. That breaks my heart because this is a beautiful design and it looks great with some highlights and a little glimmer on those snowflakes. :-(

The long sweeping swirls WILL break through your card stock if you have too much padding. You might have to create your own template for padding to get a crisp embossing of the snowflakes (they come out weak without that extra help) without forcing the design through the card stock. Trial and error! When you get the balance the design is beautiful.

Cuts well; as with all Darice folders, it needs at least one piece of cardstock between the cutting plate, which is on top, and the folder. I used my Platinum 6; other machines might have different sandwich setups..

A nice embossing folder but a little costly considering this brand can be purchased for a lot less.

One pass using an embossing folder created a gorgeous imprint.

As yet I have not tried everything that Darice makes, but I can tell you this, I will never hesitate to get anything from them because all of the manyitems that I have ordered with their name attached have been excellent.

This embossing folder creates beautiful card fronts! I can really make the snowflakes POP by using a brayer on the folder before running it through my Big Shot embossing machine.

Great embossing folder - if only the pattern would reach to the edge of the folder...
