Chalet Disk Padlock - Round Padlock with Shielded Shackle, 2-3/4-inch, Stainless Steel

Replaced the same Chalet lock that was on an outdoor cabinet. Had that lock for more than 15 years, just became to hard to open and close. The sea air and weather conditions finally took its toll. I am impressed how long it lasted outside. Definitely the best lock I have ever owned so I purchased another!

Love this for locking our generator up against our camper. We use a heavy duty bike cord with this lock. This sucker isn't getting picked/broken unless someone is incredibly determined. You can find 100% protection but this lock feels very safe to protect our $1000 generator.

Chalet Disc lock was what the moving pod company sold me when they dropped off the pod on my driveway. Both the key and lock seem like cheap knockoffs of something which should inspire confidence. At $13+, I'd expected better. I'm loading the pod gradually, so need to open and close the lock several times a day. The key and the lock don't get along well, and turning/removing the key requires a lot more patience and jiggling than I want to expend. The key is rather flimsy and I expect that it will eventually break off in the lock, which will leave me in a real jam unless I'm prepared to have someone try to tear off the hasp. Have ordered 2 of a different brand for the 2 additional boxes I'm getting, and will switch this lock to one of the ones I won't need to open and relock as much.

I use the chalet padlock for storage units and it works great. Some kids came through a while back and tried to get into a bunch of lockers with bolt cutters and they were able to get into the ones that had traditional gym locks. This lock has the shackle on it that makes it near impossible to get any bolt cutters on it. I noticed that after this happened everyone switched over to a round padlock on their units.The key sometimes is hard to open in the winter but I have never had an actual problem unlocking it. It might just be because it gets so cold here. Overall it is a good lock and easy to use though so I can't complain - especially at this price.
