Quality hammer- highly recommended for serious neuro exam
Excellent hammer for neurology rotation. It's compact and has just the right amount of weight to it. Pretty easy to elicit reflexes with this hammer b/c the weight does most of the work. It's nicely constructed and does not seem like it will break easily. Does not feel cheap. Also, the handle works well for cutaneous reflexes; it's neither too sharp nor too dull. The red and silver looks nice. It's a really good hammer at a reasonable price- what more can you ask for? I will say that the Queen Square hammer is another good option but I think this one works just as well and has the benefit of taking up less space. Either one is a much better option than those crappy Taylor hammers that everyone uses. These are not much more expensive, and it's just nice knowing that if you're not eliciting reflexes with this hammer, it's most likely b/c you either have awful technique or the patient is legitimately hyporeflexic.

High quality
This reflex hammer makes it so easy to find and elicit the reflexes and I love the color.

Great Tool
I am so thrilled I ended up getting this tool. As a medical student I had bought the simple reflex hammer with the triangle head (as that's what everyone else had and I did not know better), but since it did such a poor job, I hardly ever had it with me. Getting this made me realize I just had the wrong tool for eliciting reflexes. I think the only con would be the weight of it. It does have more heft that the simple one I had, but I like that. Works great and would recommend this as a great investment for future practice

Neuro Program Director's recommendation
This is one of the best reflex hammers out there. And if you buy the red one, your colleagues won't steal it. The rubber is soft and the weight is well balanced.

Fantastic Reflex Hammer
I think the Trömner hammer is the best reflex hammer available (even when compared to the Queen's Square) and have been very happy with so far.MDF did a superb job. I highly recommend this for anyone who needs to perform a neurologic exam.

As an owner of a dozen reflex hammers, this is the best for the price I have ever found.
If you are using a tomahawk hammer, you probably aren't a nerdologist. If you are using a Queen's square hammer, you probably had it given to you by a drug rep. If you have used a Tromner, you won't go back to inferior hammers. This particular Tromner is good but not exceptional. It is somewhat soft (I usually hit my own thumb while on a patient's tendon, so I appreciate a softer hammer). This hammer is fairly well weighted. I have several Tromners and this one is my 2nd favorite (first favorite was MANY times the cost through the AAN and is very soft). My young children are the proud owners of all of my old Tomahawks and Queen's square junkers. The base of the hammer is reasonable for Babinski testing, but as a seasoned neurologist who know you don't need to gouge a foot to elicit plantar responses, I find my thumbnail preferable. If I ever lose a hammer, I will buy another one of these. They are the best value I have been able to find.

I'm a neurologist and this works great for testing reflexes in clinic

The Swiss Army Knife of neuro reflex hammers
I suck at reflexes in general but this thing makes it easy. Great weight distribution. Also has the little scratchy tip for a nice Babinski reflex. The metal is often cold so I can use it for temperature sensation, then flip it to the smaller blunt tip for pressure. Lastly, it’s bright red, which is great for testing naming and vision! Honestly I am in love with this hammer and will no longer be calm, alert and oriented x3 if it is ever stolen.

Good weight
Balanced hammer, with heavy head. Nice buy
User
Sehr zufrieden.
Liegt gut in der Hand. Gerade qua Gewichtsverteilung auch für Anfänger gut geeignet um Reflexe auszulösen.Eine gute Wahl und mit der roten Gummierung mit hohem Wiedererkennungswert.
User
Excellent in every way
Great product. Great service. You do not need to think twice if you are looking for a knee hammer
User
Works great
I prefer this to the Queen's Square because it's small enough to carry in a whitecoat pocket or put in a drawer. It's also easier to use and more reliable than the triangle shaped one.
