Original doubter, now believer.
After getting my NIPT test results back, I can confidently say this test works. Right after using this urine test, the strip was undoubtedly PINK. I orginally had my doubts but it was correct for me!

does not work.
I bought this to seehow accurate it would be even though I know its a gimmick. I folowed the instructions presisly and the color a purpleish color. The color was not on the girl or boy color spectrum so I contacted the company and they sent me another test. I'm still giving a one star for the fact thatthesecond test showed the exact same results of the purpleish color. Yesterday on 3/17/14 we had an NT scan that our pediatrician recomended to test for defect and proper growth of baby. By doing this we were able to find out the sex of our child(its a girl). We found out on the 13th week and can be done as soon as 12 weeks. In conclusion save your money and and have it professional done and get an NT scan. Yes I know its a dr visit and will be more than the cost of this test but the test is a gimmick, 50/50 chance to be right if it doesnt turn purple then its 0% accuracy.

The male prospective
When we found out we were pregnant my first thought like all males was "I want a boy!". When we were 6 weeks pregnant, I started looking at Gender Maker along with other brands to see if we could get a sneak peak at "boy or girl"... So, being paranoid and crazy all wrapped in one, I figured to buy 5 of these and test the results daily. Day 1: blue/gray color, then turned to pink. We stared at it for 30 minutes.. Great, a failure so we thought. Day 2: dark blue within 30 seconds Day 3: light blue to dark blue Day 4: gray to blue to purple Day 5: purple So, figuring we had some sort of blue each day, it was a boy. Giddy since. Yesterday was our first gender ultrasound at 16 weeks and sure enough, GenderMaker was correct! Now, everything wasn't as accurate in the instructions as Gender Maker makes it seems, so here is some advice on using it. Hydrate really well the night before. Use your first morning urine.. That means 4am for some folks if you have to get up to urinate. When filling the dropper (we peed in a red solo cup) fill it all the way...( after it cools for a few minutes to room temp). Don't just put a few drops and wait, keep adding more and watch the color dial change. It might make a mess but it saves time and frustration. Get a color match within the first three minutes. After sitting for a while, it turns funky colors of purple, pink, gray. So, all-in-all, it's a good product. If you want more accuracy, buy more than one. Nothing will compare to the 100% feeling of your ultrasound results so don't try to replace it with these. From: Houston, TX

Easy and Fun
This test was extremely easy to use and can be used much earlier in pregnancy than the Intelligender test. The results are easy to read at home (also much easier than Intelligender) and do not require being sent off to a lab at an additional cost. I have no idea how accurate it is, and won't know for another 7 weeks at my 20-week ultrasound (I hope). However, I purchased the test for fun, and that it was. I give it four stars, only because I cannot rate its accuracy at this time. Update: Jan 10, 2011 We just had our sonogram at 19 weeks and our baby was very obviously a boy. The test predicted a girl, so it's accuracy leaves much to be desired. I've reduced my rating to three stars as a result. That said, the test is really just meant for fun. Kind of expensive fun in hindsight. It would be nice if the manufacturer revealed some real science behind the test, i.e., exactly what chemical or hormone is the test detecting?

waste of money
waste of money, when i saw the package i knew this was not gonna be helpful, cheaply made, ,not a real syringe, i believe you need to put on packages , not a real test it should be .99 cents , since this is not a real test, , these things mostly come up purple from what i see, and from the paper, a purple or blue mean boy, so we will see on Sept 16th 2016 if it is right, , we want a girl, we have a boy,and he wants a sister, i only have seen maybe one actual blue result, and maybe i actual pink result, on here from other people, and most test were wrong, from what i have read, my daughter is 16 weeks pregnant you would think it would be a clear result, , this is a rip off, i paid 13,something for nothing,

Right Gender!!!! Super Easy!
I initially purchased this gender reveal test for fun, because my husband and I did not want to wait a second longer to find out! We did not take it too seriously based on the price and some of the reviews. I followed the instructions exactly and used my first urine of the morning at the week time frame it states. It was so simple and easy to use the dropper to place urine in the little reader. It immediately was showing girl, which we were happy about, but again did not take it too seriously. We have since found out that WE ARE HAVING A GIRL!!!!! This inexpensive test was spot on, and I am so happy I purchased it so early on! It was a fun little experiment and was totally worth it!!

Disappointed
I'm disappointed in the product because I at least expected it to be pink or blue whether the sex was correct or not. Apparently the predictor was confused because it couldn't pick what it wanted. I followed directions exactly even though I wanted to do the test as soon as it arrived. I did wait till the next morning and followed exact directions. You can look at the test and see that there's color spots where the results will come up... They look like little blue/purple spots. I deposited the urine like it said and waited the 15 seconds. It was immediately pink/ish. With some blue mixed in but it kept getting darker. I read that other people were saying that the tests weren't accurate unless you leave them sitting for at least 10-15 min. I rechecked the test 15 mins later and it was waaaaay more blue with just a hint of pinkish specs. So.... not sure what to think. Test said results would be in 15 seconds when other people and other sites say 15 minutes. So, I leave the test there for my husband to look at and he takes a peek about 3 hours later. He laughs at me and hands me the test. Apparently the test is REALLY confused now because it's purple. Completely purple. So..... I just leave it. Waiting to see what else this thing might do, lol. Next morning I get up, go to the bathroom and wow! The thing is now back to the white with the little blueish specs that it was to start with. Amazing!!! I showed my DH and he just laughed and said it's apparently some magic trick.... where this company made $24 disappear. :-) I actually decided it can't hurt to do it again. Peed, started the process over and what do ya know... Same exact process happened. I started to have my DH pee in it and see what happened but he was done with it. I understand this is for entertainment purposes only and that's the only reason I gave it a 2. I was so excited to get it whether it was correct or not. I just wanted SOMETHING normal to come up. I read reviews on this one and intelligender before I bought this one cause intelligender was apparently having the same problems I ended up having with this one so I tried gendermaker since it had much better reviews. Hopefully other people don't have this problem cause it sucks to waste that much money and not really get any entertainment value out of it.
