Galaxy A51 Mobile Phone; Sim Free Smartphone - Prism Crush Black, (UK Version)

This phone is a replacement for an old and trusted Motorola. As I didn't want to buy Chinese I chose a Samsung phone....made in Vietnam, not South Korea as I expected! The fingerprint reader works but is slow compared with my Motorola. I may try face recognition instead. Battery life for my type of usage is fine, well over a day. I don't play games though.The camera system takes getting used to....all those lenses! Macro is really good, but regular snaps are hardly spectacular. I've yet to try low-light and night shots. I must work at it.Transferring apps and data wirelessly worked fine.Screen size and clarity is good. I've tweaked the keyboard to help ease typing...I'm a senior!Basically I like it!It's now May 2021. I've got used to the phone but still find the fingerprint recognition poor, also face recognition. I often have to enter my password as a last resort. Most frustrating. There was a software update a few months ago which I hoped might sort the issue, but no.The camera does work well now I've had chance to experiment. Sound and video quality are fine for me. WhatsApp calls are great fun. My wife and I enjoy catching up with family events. We are able to cast picture and sound to our TV via a Roku stick.The phone screen is very easy to keep clean, is super-sensitive and, so far, resistant to scratches. I have no extra screen protection applied but have bought a rather ugly but very tough case which, so far, has kept the phone free from dings or nicks.All in all, I'm very pleased with the phone and recommend it as good value for money.

This was a notable and affordable upgrade for me from my Samsung J3 (which was constantly giving memory full warnings and not saving things to the SD card). The A51 is a very fast, responsive and great phone to use. Moving stuff from my old phone to the A51 was relatively straight forward with the Smart Switch app.I've found the significantly extra inbuilt storage of the A51 to be great, though once I'd transferred the 16gb of the J3 data across the A51 had already used nearly 40gb of storage; this must have been due to the in built stuff and functionality of the A51. Thankfully the mico SD card slot works well and I've been able to load the music from my computer to the SD card on the phone via a usb cable.The A51 is very quick in loading apps and data and whilst it is a new concept for me I really like the biometrics finger scan. This makes it a lot easier to unlock the phone and log in to password secure apps without having to constantly type in or remember passwords.From a personal preference point of view, the phone is a little bigger than what I'm used to or comfortable with. It has already fallen out of my pocket. This was a compromise I knew I was making since I saw the dimensions of the phone on Amazon before I bought. However when it comes to the extra storage space, memory power and price point this was by far the best value Samsung phone for my needs. I am currently a very happy owner of a Galaxy A51!

The reason I got this phone instead of the old A5 is because of the glass back, this phone just feels great to hold! I use to own an iPhone 4 and I loved the feeling of holding a phone with glass on both sides. This A5 2016 is looks like the love child of an iPhone 4 with an iPhone 6, Samsung have really stepped up their design. I imported mine from Europe for use in UK, came with a Euro plug and an adapter which the supplier included.Main Pros for me are:- Looks and feel great, especially without a case- Large screen with high res and great quality- Great battery life (Probably one of the best for all round use, and has fast charging)- Good value for quality of phone, and would expect price to drop significantly after release- Supports SD card for lots of memoryCons:- Quite slippery, so need to be careful if not using a case- Mid range processor, which can be considered a compromise for battery life.It's pretty much the perfect phone I've been looking for over the last 5 years, and is finally here for a decent price. Don't need the "optional gimmicks" the top range phones comes with, does the most important things a mobile phone should do really well.

2026 update: I've had this phone for 5yrs, daily use and it's still going strong. On battery saver it lasts 2-3 days. Biometrics are sound. Love it!Excellent phone. Looks slick and feels premium. Great battery life, fast charging (1.5hrs), clean display, lots of storage, top camera - even free headphones.I consciously avoided the flagship Samsung 'S' series - my work phone is an s8 and the curved screen is v frustrating (too many mis-touches), fingerprint reader is pants and the phone way too slippery to hold. The A51 is larger but ironically much more comfortable to hold. Also proper headphone jack - not all of us are interested in wireless buds. In all much better phone than the s10 and tonnes better value than the s20 for almost the same spec.Only niggle is the two stage phone start-up protocol which I guess is a security feature but feels a bit overboard.

All seemed ok with this phone at first other than not holding it charge for longer than 9 hours. Then the headphones i order with it didnt work well. I assume the headphones werent not the most compatible option and the charge might be down to it being a cheaper phone than purchasing direct form samsung. I noticed that if I was charging the phone I cannot read a text message etc because the phone would freeze or glitch. Then yesterday the phone suddenly cannot be charged. I thought it was the charger but have tried 3 others and nothing will charge the phone. I have tried to resolve it through the various avenues on Amazon but im being passed from pillar to post. Im devastated. I received an amazon voucher for 20 years service in my work and used it for this phone. What a waste.

Gute Verarbeitung, alles funktioniert!

Ich habe das A5 jetzt seit ein paar Wochen und bin von dem Gerät total überzeugt.Das Phone hat eine elegante, flache Optik. Die Verarbeitung ist hochwertig. Allerdings ist das Handy aufgrund seiner sehr glatten Oberfläche wirklich ziemlich rutschig. Ein weiterer kleiner Nachteil ist, dass die rückwärtige Kamera ein wenig vorsteht und die Gefahr besteht, dass Kameralinse verkratzt. Eine dünne Silikonhülle hat da in beiden Punkten aber schnell Abhilfe geschaffen.Das hochauflösende Display ist gut ausgeleuchtet und gestochen scharf. Auch die Größe des Displays ist prima. Man kann entspannt im Netz surfen. Dennoch ist das Phone insgesamt nicht zu klobig und passt bequem in meine Handtasche.Die Menüführung erklärt sich nahezu von selbst, sodass die Anpassung der Funktionen, Widgets, usw. nahezu problemlos und ohne Handbuch geklappt hat, ebenso wie die Handhabung im täglichen Gebrauch.An der Sprachqualität gibt's ebenfalls nichts auszusetzen. WLAN und Internetverbindung funktionieren prima und die Surf- und Downloadgeschwindigkeit ist (natürlich verbindungsabhängig) für meine Ansprüche sehr ordentlich. Meine Handyspiele laufen ebenfalls flüssig.Bezogen auf die gebotenen Funktionen hat das Gerät für mich als "Normaluser" alles was es braucht.Viele bemängeln die nicht vorhandene Benachrichtigungs- LED. Eine entsprechende kostenlose App (NoLED) hilft bei Bedarf weiter und ersetzt die fehlende LED perfekt.Mich stört es daher nicht.Die Kamera ist ebenfalls ganz prima. Die Aufnahmen bei Tageslicht sind gestochen scharf. Die Belichtung der Bilder ist erstaunlich gut, selbst bei starken Hell-Dunkel-Kontrasten. Die Farbwiedergabe ist manchmal vielleicht ein wenig zu intensiv, insgesamt aber gut. Bei Bedarf kann man die Bilder (auch schon am Phone) nachbearbeiten. Auch in hellen Räumen können sich die Ergebnisse echt sehen lassen. Ich fotografiere selbst gerne und viel und finde, dass die Kamera eine normale Kompaktkamera, zumindest für Tageslichtaufnahmen, locker ersetzt. Einige der Bilder haben durchaus schon den Weg in ein Fotobuch gefunden. Eine Info an alle Hobbyfotografen: Es ist immer noch eine Handykamera! Für die wirklich guten Aufnahmen, wie z.B. Nachtaufnahmen, Vergrößerungen. etc. nehme ich meine Spiegelreflex. Damit hält die Handykamera natürlich nicht mit. Das muss sie in meinen Augen aber auch nicht.Es mag ja Handykameras geben, die noch etwas besser sind. Ob davon aber eine an die Qualität einer hochwertigen Spiegelreflex- oder Systemkamera heranreicht, wage ich zu bezweifeln.Der Akku hält super lange durch. Bei meinem Nutzungsverhalten sind das ca. 2 bis vier Tage! Das Wiederaufladen mit dem mitgelieferten Schnellladegerät geht darüber hinaus echt fix.Die Tatsache dass der Akku nicht austauschbar ist, stört mich nicht. Meine Handyakkus haben bisher immer mehrere Jahre durchgehalten. Darüber hinaus habe ich persönlich die Erfahrung gemacht, dass nachgekaufte Austauschakkus, auch wenn es angeblich Originalakkus waren, eine unterirdisch schlechte Qualität, sprich Laufzeit, hatten.Wer ein hochwertiges, elegantes Smartphone zu einem annehmbaren Preis sucht, der kann meiner Meinung nach mit dem A5 nichts falsch machen.

Sono molto soddisfatto di questo acquisto. Il telefonino ha un bel display con un touch molto sensibile. Il processore e la ram permettono di passare tra una applicazione e l'altra senza fatica, nonostante siano caricati Antivirus Norton e molti widget. Il browser carica molto velocemente le pagine. La carica della batteria è molto lunga, nonostante la rete accesa sempre, dura circa un giorno e mezzo.

Works great! Have had it for close to a month now and everything works great! If you want a product that's premium enough and has all the bells and whistles of the latest smart phones at an affordable price, definitely get this product. Would recommend it to anybody whose looking for an upgrade!
