550GPH Submersible pump

Very Nice Fountain Pump! Had to replace the pump in our 3-tier concrete fountain. Original metal 280 gph U.S. made CalPump lasted over 10 years! Be sure to check your application because this pump is relatively large with a tall(er) form factor! This replacement is rated at 550 gph. I figured if it did 50% I would still be good. Its quiet and pumps well. Lots of suction and has good head pressure, easily doing the 4 feet or so for the fountain. Has a generous (measured) 6 ft Cord and 6 ft hose which was not mentioned in the ad copy or reviews unless I completely missed it. All in all seems like a good item, Gave it 5-stars hoping it will last many years as the labor needed to disassemble the concrete tiers/bowls and replace it was considerable! Spent a few afternoons.

I built a fountain and needed to replace the pump. I love how the suction is on the bottom. I don’t typically let it run low but if I did it’d be much better than the typical pump with side suction. It’s quiet, easy to install and pumps a lot of water. Just pay attention to the size as it is bigger than most little pumps. Came with quite a lot of hose (more than I needed). I feel this will last.

When I first received this pump it was awesome great power! By the end of the week it lost most of its power. The seller reached out after I purchased so I replied and told them what happened. They were very polite and helpful and sent a replacement quickly. I was very pleased with there customer service and the pump is still working great so the first one must have been a bad one. Great pump and great price!

I purchased this pump to replace a older worn-out metal cased 500 GPH fountain pump that operated in my two-tier backyard fountain. It was easy to replace. The pump came with several tubing connectors so that made it convenient out of the box. It also came with rubber suction feet and two extras. That is a nice feature. In addition, two tubing suction feet clips were also included. The electrical cord was of sufficient length and heavy duty. This pump easily pumps water upward through the fountain to a height of 62 inches. One drawback is that the flow rate is not adjustable although the instructions included with it state that it can at the control valve but there is no diagram depicting its location or use. All in all the pump works as advertised.

Been running it with a timer on my homemade bird bath. So far it works great. But does have a powerful stream. I had to reconfigure the design to tone down the stream. Added some drain areas to allow some water to fall to the bottom of multiple level bird bath. Pump could have many uses.

It didn’t last but a short time.

This is the second pump I’ve returned. Impressive package, ran great for about 30 minutes, then failed. Both the first and the second unit stopped within a couple of hours. From other reviews, this is a pattern. Skip these, they are not reliable. I went to Lowe’s, bought a decent pump for $28, supported my friends and neighbors who work locally, and the pump is still working today. Oh, and it has a two year warranty. I use it as a pump for water. It worked perfectly. I don't use it much, but it looks durable, quality build, pump the water at a great flow rate for my needs. Around the house I recommend this.
