Ichiran Ramen Hakata thin noodles (straight) Ichiran special red with secret powder

After eating at Ichiran while in Kyoto and Tokyo I knew I would have to bring some of these kits home with me. I was not disappointed. Was it the same as sitting in a Ramen isolation booth at the restaurant? Nah. Does the flavor bring you back to Japan? For me that's a yes. I read that people complaining about the price. I paid ¥1220/$765ish at the restaurants in Japan. This kit which includes 5 portions breaks down to a little over $8 a serving. It's a no brainer. Buy it you will not be dissapointed. Tip. When you are in Japan shopping or leaving from NRT, HND, or KIX, fill up your suitcase with these kits instead of KitKats, and they'll be less than three bucks a serving.

Ichiran’s Hakata-style tonkotsu ramen is the closest I’ve had to the real restaurant experience at home. The fine straight noodles cook perfectly and have that proper bite you expect from authentic tonkotsu. The broth is rich, creamy, and full of flavour — exactly what you want if you’re craving proper ramen. And of course, it’s miles better than instant ramen. This actually feels like a proper meal, not a quick packet snack. It’s one of those kits you sit down and enjoy because it tastes like something you’d get in a ramen shop. If you love tonkotsu ramen, this has been one of the best at-home versions I’ve tried.

One of the best instant ramen in terms of taste and texture and soup base does not disappoint. Do note this is a pack of 5, and the ramen are not individually packed but packed together in batch of 5 so presents a storage issue if you're not going to cook all 5 at one go. The soup base and spice is packed individually though.

É mais caro que um ramen de supermercado? Sim. Vale a pena? Absolutamente. É o melhor kit de ramen "em casa" que podes comprar. Se és fã de comida japonesa autêntica, este pack de 5 refeições é um investimento no teu paladar. Eu estive no Japão e comi deste ramen e o sabor é tal e qual igual.

The broth has a lot of flavour and the noodles are very good! It's pricy for instant ramen, but it's worth it. The quality has nothing to do with ordinary instant ramen. Recommend!
