Update. I’ve order this wasabi 3 times now. Very happy with the first two orders. But this batch was not good. Texture was very coarse and stingy. Tasted fine but unpleasant looking and feeling. I hope this is just a one off. Removing 1 star. If I get another bad tube I’ll change this to a do not recommend. Original review. It's good! Almost no nose burn like you get from horseradish-based wasabi. Lasts a decent amount of time in the fridge. It tastes fantastic with sushi and sashimi (as you would expect). But I actually prefer the horseradish version for meat dishes and in BBQ sauce. So now I have both in my house. Pretty fair price too. Without the burn you end up eating a lot more of it though.

Wake up your nose

Unlike the fake wasabi you get at a sushi place in the US this is easy to apply, the way it should be. I used about 1/3 of the tube for my own dinner the last time my wife and I dined out. definitely feels & tastes different than what you taste with the horseradish based fake wasabi served in the states. This is the only one I have found so far that is made with only real wasabi radish. It tasted great and was very good on my maguro. it keeps in the fridge for quite a while as well. I will be buying it again.

This is made from actual wasabi root, not like the green-dyed "wasabi" made from horseradish powder that you get in restaurants. It's absolutely delicious. The flavor is more complex, and is refreshing compared to the restaurant stuff. I keep it in the refrigerator, so I always have an extra ready to go. Be careful with it though. The horseradish stuff in the restaurants has a "superficial" burn. This has more of a "deep burn" if you eat too much of it in one bite, which has left me gasping when I chomped down too much in one bite. A little goes a long way.
