I mixed it with mayonnaise to get them to eat it. Peanut butter did not work.

Easy to use. I have a cement floor under my chicken coop and it was infested with mice and rat burrows. I didn't want to have secondary poisoning of my chickens so I used a piece of PVC pipe to insert into the holes. Seems to have solved problems and no ill effects with my chickens.

When I first put this out the rats would not touch it. I coated it in peanut better and they ate it like candy. Problem is they keep eating it like candy and not dying! I fee like I have a bunch of pet feral rats now lol. I have cats and dogs so did not want anything in the barn that would hurt them. I can not stand traps but may have to go back to them.. although the rats stop going near them once they see the first few murders.

After complaining to my apartments multiple times and letting them know where I had been seeing the rats even after months they still didn’t handle it so I did. I had used it consistently at first putting out 3 small containers at a time each day for around 4 days straight. (I cut solo cups so they were about 2-3 inches tall I read to put peanut butter & honey (thanks AI) which actually ended up being incorrect via another source I read (this is why you can’t trust AI). I’m still not sure about that because by the end of the bag they were gone but I was seeing them still after that first few consistent days i had started. I was busy so I didn’t put it out for a few days (maybe 3-4 days) but those last few batches I used just honey. Whole process was around 10-11 days or so and FINALLY by the end of one bag they were gone! I think it was a huge infestation as well…because I saw babies and they were running all over my patio during the day time for months! I have a bird feeder and even put a catch all but they were still coming around and multiplying :(. I really didn’t want to stop feeding my birds and I’m glad I didn’t have to. If they return I will use the same method. I think you have to be good about consistent use until you no longer see them, and you may need more then the one bag, I did remove my bird feeders mid afternoon so this was the only food source for them. Still unsure about the peanut butter/honey but I did read you can use powder peanut butter too which shouldn’t affect the poisons effectiveness.

This is a good product because it does not pose a risk to wildlife through secondary poisoning. When regular rat baits are used and an owl, eagle, hawk etc catches a rodent that has eaten it, it will kill them. The only down side is--the rodents won't eat it. I fixed that situation by adding peanut butter to the pellets. So overall this is all I will use. I don't want to risk secondary poisoning with traditional rat baits.

After reading other reviews, I mixed the pellets with peanut butter and put it in disposable bowls in the area on my patio where we had seen rats around my potted plants. The bait disappeared the first night and I replenished it every other day. After a week, no more bait was eaten, no signs of rats remained. I have not seen any signs of critters or caught any in the traps I set for over for a week, now. I was worried about neighborhood pets, but not with this product. I’m very happy that I found this.

I have chickens and goats, and every two years or so, I get a rat infestation in and under the barn it happens fast. There are 2 farms close by, and they seem to migrate around. Up in Vermont,so winters are long and the animals and hens stay indoors most of the months, the walls are insulated and the there is lots of space under the structure. a paradise for rats, hay, pieces of grain, bird feeders outdoors. I have dogs, I will not use a poison that would kill other animals or birds. This product controls them,and will kill the smaller offspring, it reduces a little over a half. They will not touch it if it is not scented up a bit. I use bacon or peanut butter, just dump it in a small pail and blend in a small amount and rub it on the pellets. I use it outdoors when it is dry and I put them in those plastic black take out containers, when I am sure its not going to rain for 48 hours. The little ones go right for it, the older rats let their babies be tasters, so it they notice the kill rate happening, they will not touch it. For the big ones I use a live multi catch trap, and then drive them a couple of miles away into the woods. The last remaining ones get the snap traps. which can only be put out late at night and brought in early so the chickens or dogs dont get killed or maimed.This 3 tier approach leaves me rat free for 2 years or so, then I hear my neighbor has them, and she won't use poison either. The bag says right on it that it is effective rat CONTROL, it's useful. Rats are smart survivors and are part of having livestock, and chickens especially. The indoor cats take care of the occasional mouse.
