Good quality nuts, thogh we feed squirrels them, they need to be throughly washed, I soak them in plastic tub and allow to air-dry in their netting. You will find some that have mildewed shells which if not washed off could spread to other shells, if not able to clean shell through it away.

Hazel nuts and walnuts are a regular part of my diet. These hazel nuts are excellent. Beautiful texture and full of flavour. However, the one special point which makes this supplier stand out from other suppliers available on Amazon is the way in which they package and despatch their product. In strong cardboard boxes, ensuring that the full quantity of nuts ordered arrive safely.Having experienced the loss of a significant quantity of hazelnuts, in the past, from suppliers who mistakenly think that it is satisfactory to send hazelnuts through the postal system in a thin plastic bag, I would recommend this supplier unreservedly.

Poorly packaged, only 1.8kg instead of 2kg. Nuts were dusty and seemed old. I wouldn't give them to the squirrels never mind humans.

Squirrels are very happy with the hazelnuts ,but we now put the nuts in the maze as the squirrels do eat them very quickly and it can work out a bit expensive. I wish you could do these half price 😀😀😀

Why would anybody feed these to squirrels (as several reviewers apparently do)?The batch we just received was typical of central European hazelnuts freshly picked in the wild (as these may well have been) - kernels slightly furry, taste not even a hint of staleness, let alone rancidity. They;re most likely this year's crop. And that's the point: Buy hazelnuts now rather than in the spring, so you're more likely to get the current season's crop. Do store them in a cool, dry location - and eat them yourself.The comparatively few buyers with a negative experience must have been sent old or very badly stored lots. Have another try - but do order them in autumn.

These have been my preferred choice for a few months, but this last box was mostly bad. They looked great, no smell, but when cracked open a lot were rancid and many were mouldy.Im not totally put off but I will leave it a while before trying them again. When they are good they are the freshest-tasting nuts Ive found online (not far of having a tree in the garden).
