You Look So Much Better in Person: True Stories of Absurdity and Success Hardcover – July 28, 2020

I read a lot of these books and they tend to be focused on the Type A go-getters or can be somewhat patronizing as though you don't have a clue. Al has written a book with proper tangible tidbits that anyone starting off should pay close attention to and anyone who has gone through it can automatically recognize those moments with his usual sprinkle of humor. His writing makes this a joy to read that can be consumed within one sitting!!!

I LOVED this book! It’s an incredibly well-written, funny, insightful look at the life and career of a genuinely inspirational celebrity. It’s fascinating fun to learn about Al’s path from AV geek to Today Show anchor - and there are LOTS of lol moments along the way. This will be my new default gift book for friends and family - I can’t imagine ANYONE not being thrilled to receive this book as a gift. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

Al brings his upbeat, sunny disposition to bear here, much as he does on the Today Show. His Al Truisms are light-hearted and provide a vehicle for sharing his life journey and the events along the way that made him into the delight we see on TV each morning. I've not met him in person but I suspect he looks every bit as good on TV as in person - and shame on those who tell him differently on the plaza (read the book and you'll understand this closing remark!).

i like Al Roker and his style of writing. LOVED "I will never go back " referring to his weight loss struggles and stories!This book was ok. Really explained his jouney and how he ended up on THE TODAY SHOW . But honestly, i missed the Matt relationship, and others. Al Roker does a great job every day on TV . I missed the funny humor that was in the journey of becoming healthy. All summed up in the last few pages. Enjoy the read.

It was so good to learn more about Al and how he got to where he is today. It is a great combo of funny and seriousness.

We know Al Roker from how he presents himself each morning on The Today Show. Reading this book (the first for me written by Al Roker), there is no doubt that I would be blessed to have Al as a neighbor (would almost assure that he wouldn’t ever stop over and visit - read ALtruism #11: Don’t Goober Smoocher).One thing for sure, the front and back door to our house would always be open and inviting for Al to stop in.Thank You Al for a wonderful read.

I've watched Al in the mornings for years, was hoping for a book with a little more stimulation. The storyline was fine but I feel like he held back some. Well written though, and allowed a look into Mr. R's, life more, which was interesting.

Al did it again! A great read that incorporates his wonderful personality - makes it a very easy read! I normally DO NOT ENJOY reading for "fun", but anything he writes has been wonderful and I have enjoyed spending some of my free time reading. This is a great story of how he got his start, mistakes he made along the way and the people who made the biggest impact on him.

This was such an amazing book to read. Funny and enlightening. A must buy!
