A great product that is as advertised.

My review is not completely negative, but this product did not work for me. For context, I live in a small apartment with a small central air unit. I kept getting gunk that was coming out of the air vents, so I ordered these. They were very easy to cut and install, and they can be cut to whatever size is needed. They worked very well for their intended purpose of removing dust and bad smells. I did end up removing them, only because even though they were pretty thin, they reduced the airflow in the apartment by a ton and caused heating and cooling issues. If that’s not an issue for you, I highly recommend this product.

It came on time. Great value compared to previous framed filters. I will get at least 5 applications with this purchase.

I got this because the filters for my Broan range hood, which is not vented outside, are no longer available (NLA) anywhere. (Filter model Broan 88F). So I pulled out the old oily filter media from the plastic filter holder and replaced the filter media with a double layer of this activated carbon - containing material. It works great! Big bonus: it's much better than the original at trapping smoke from cooking. I can now sear steaks without setting off the smoke alarm. I don't even have to open the windows, door and skylight, which used to be necessary.

I use this all over my house, I have a variety of air filters, some store bought, some home made. I use these in all of them as a layer of my filter stack. works great to eliminate certain smells, mostly cooking and smoking smells. when they get full I rinse them, after a few times of this they are pretty thin and useless. This is a consumable item. they dont last forever, but they do good work while they last.

I needed these because we live in a downstairs apartment and share vents with cigarette smokers. If you don’t smoke then you know how bad it can smell and they start smoking at 5am. I took the vents down and cut the filter to size and just put them back up. There’s plenty left to change them out in 3 months. Results: they kinda work. I still smell the awful cigarettes through the vents but it’s not as powerful as it is without them . There’s plenty of air flow out of the filter but I’m slightly disappointed there is still a smell.

Carbon fibre pre-filters do a great job of minimising odours and catching material allowing your expensive HEPA filter to last longer by filtering out ultra small particulate matter. Without a pre-filter it clogged up very fast so this saves you money in the long run and it’s easily washable.

We have a neighbour below us who has cats. The smell of cat litter comes up through a vent that lets out onto the landing of our stairs to the second floor. It's relatively subtle, but definitely there. I cut out a piece of this filter and fit it behind the grill of the vent. We now never notice the cat litter smell!

Easy to cut and install. The carbon helps to reduce odors which was helpfull since both air conditioner units have not run since 2009. Have enough left over to put behind the furnace intake and be able to do this again when it's time.
