Rescued Heart (A Puppy Love Romance, 1) Review: Second read as good as first! - If you have not read this series of 3 books you are totally missing out. Run to You was my first Georgia Beers book and it is still my all time favorite! Saw that Ms. Beers is releasing a new book next week that is taking us back to June bug Farms and I cannot wait. Have already preordered! It better have some cameos of Lisa, Ashley, Emily, Catherine, Jess and Sydney in the new book! I am dying to know what is up with all of them! New GB book and more June bug Farms...... I feel like Christmas has come early! Now if only Ms. Beers could talk her friend Ms. Brayden into revisiting the Soho ladies with a sequel my world would be perfect....Keep writing these fabulous books so I can keep reading but could you do it a little faster? LOL Review: More Of Same, But Not Horrible - I liked Ashley, but who wouldn't? She was optimistic, likeable and loves the critters at Junebug. She's a hard worker, and even though she works two jobs she always has a sunny disposition. She lacks confidence, but this is temporary. The overwhelming plot devices in Beers' books are present here, as well. A hard-nosed, no-nonsense, closed woman, waiting to be freed from the prison life has handed her. Instead of the pasts of the characters dragging them down, I would like it better if, once in awhile the characters were pretty well-adjusted but had roadblocks thrown up in their present lives. And why does everyone have to come from divorced parents??? I liked the story, though, even though these same plot devices seem to run through all Beers' stories. It's always interesting to see how things develop and then shake out. These are the only things that are different in her stories and these are what keep me coming back.

More Of Same, But Not Horrible

A heartwarming story!
My heart melts reading about the dogs in the shelter. Especially Jax stole my heart and I wish I could adopt him. For all the animals I shed a tear or two but it also gave me warm fuzzy feelings. Both loves animals and cupcakes. The aroma was always around Ashley. As happy as Lisa is with her work, in her private live, she isn't. She has a past that she can't forget, a past that has hardened her and prevent her from a real relationship. A relationship she really wants. Can Lisa find the strength and courage to open up her heart, to give love a chance? Ashley, a passive person and not very brave, valiant, can't shake the image of her out of her head. But what can she do? Lisa is so standoffish, sometimes even a bit cold. Winning her over is not so easily and besides, Ashley has to do something about her feelings of quilt, she has to make a hurtfull decision before she can move on. This is a story full of emotions, friendship, family, strong feelings, passion and characters that are spot on. It was an incredibly entertaining read and I highly recommend this book.

Every element to good romance captured...
Georgia strikes the perfect balance of chemistry, tension, heavy emotional baggage, slow burn romance, humor and love. This book is such a treat. When one gets adorable animals, two beautiful women who make each other better and the witness of bravery by both of them to confront their hang-ups, the reader can count on a sure pleaser as a book. Lucky for us, this is the start of a wonderful series. Looking forward to the next installment.

Another Great Book from Beers
"Rescued Heart" was a great read and I'm not just saying that because I love almost all of Georgia Beers' books or have a soft spot for animals (dogs in particular). If you are fan of Beers, then you will notice that Lisa Drakemore is mentioned in her previous book "A Little Bit of Spice," which personally I liked as well. Anyways, the book revolves around Ashley Stiles (passive, loving, happy go-lucky baker and animal shelter volunteer) and Lisa Drakemore (stand-offish, kinda cold, intense animal shelter worker). Right from the start, you get the feel of both characters, who they are and who they want to be. Both with their own issues that they need to work through and a chemistry that they can't deny. I really liked this book. And the environment created has a great potential to turn into more stories in the future. I thought the characters were well liked and the story progressed in a nice matter. None of this long drawn out stuff that seems to be filtering in more and more lately. The supporting characters were great and the family dynamic, though not really a forefront but ever so present and issue oriented, was well used. I hope this is not the end of Ashely and Lisa's story because honestly, I would like to read more...

Not Beers' most likeable characters
I went into this expecting a light series book, and read in that light, I was pretty captivated by the attraction the two feel. I had a very hard time with Lisa. As another reviewer noted, I saw little about her that convinces me that she's actually going to be good for Ashley. I especially had problems with the "doormat" aspect of Ashley's character. Beers does a bit to show that side of Ashley but also spends a lot of time on the character's growing beyond that. It would be good character growth, but Lisa keeps insisting that she's got this soft spine which negates Ashley's growth. The things Lisa did to drive the plot forward were overdrawn for me. The only thing that kept her conflict-producing actions from tanking the book was that Ashley was grown up to confront her and talk and make her talk.

Add to audible...makes daily chores fly by.
I really enjoyed this book! I've been on a Georgia Beers reading jag and needed some books on audible while I get things done as well. Abby Crayden (sp?) is great with her narration as well. I'm really looking forward to the other books in the series too. The characters had a gradual development with real life issues I could relate to and having a no kill shelter be the backdrop was just an added bonus.

Very believable characters, I loved the story about the shelter, and can't wait to read the sequel

This is what I enjoy. Girl meets girl, they fall in love, there is a misunderstanding, they make up and they live happily ever after. Life is tough enough so let's find happiness.

I loved the book so much I read it overnight. It is very well written, the characters are genuine and the dialogues perfect. I liked the story and the love that the author has for people and animals is heartfelt very strongly by her readers. I am sure to read the book again after some months, to be moved again by the beautiful story and the equally beautiful style

Yet another wonderful romance novel by the very talented Georgia Beers. Ashley is an almost 30 year old woman who has worked in a bakery since leaving school over 10 years earlier, but is a naturally passive person who has settled for a job that she actually enjoys, and in her spare time volunteers to help take rescued dogs for a walk at the nearby animal rescue Junebug Farms. Lisa is a 32 year old woman who is in charge of intake and adoption of animals at the Farms. Ashley is in a faltering relationship with a truly lovely girl, but there is no spark there for her. Lisa is single and struggling with her past, and fighting to stay single to protect herself. Their attraction is mutual, but Ashley must overcome her own nature while at the same time helping Lisa fight her own personal demons in order to make the relationship work. A beautifully written story with plenty of characters you will warm to (and one particular sleazeball you definitely won't!). I look forward to a future instalment when hopefully we will see the sweet Carly find someone who can truly love her the way she deserves to be loved. No violence, no bad language, and one incredibly steamy scene between our leading ladies (if that doesn't get your juices flowing nothing will!), this book is highly recommended. The only thing missing is a bit more humour, but then it wasn't really that kind of tale.

The Series was terrific. I loved the characters (and the animals, of course). The stories flowed well. I was immediately drawn into the stories. I find all of Georgia's books are well written and I love them. I never want the book to end. AND I have all her books and re-read them over and over.
