My Samsung HDTV was bought so long ago, I can no longer recall the model nor exact screen size (50+ inch) One thing’s for certain though, Samsung remote buttons don’t go the distance. (Sampling from 5 Samsung AV products). Realizing the power button & right-arrow button on the Living Room 50” was non responsive I started using the remote from the bedroom’s 40”. Several buttons on THAT eventually failed too.Not long ago, the only remedy would’ve been a generic “universal” remote that had a non-specific layout but also missed some important custom keys (Tools, Info, Return, Exit, Fav Channel, Previous Channel, etc) that would be crucial to getting the most out of the TV. The OTHER option would’ve been dropping some $$$ on a programmable overly complex Logitech Harmony Remote.Color me surprised that third parties are now replicating near-exact remotes… and for a tenth of what it’d cost to track down a genuine Samsung replacement, I HAD to investigate. The existing reviews already warned me of the weight discrepancy and that didn’t bother me. All I cared was whether it’d PERFORM in a reasonably similar manner.I’m happy to report that all the buttons on the replacement was replicated and positioned in all the right spots AND performed as responsively as the original did all those years ago. The Channel List, Info, Fav Channel, and Arrow keys are crucial to accessing some of the additional information (and upcoming shows) that are embedded in the modern day digital over-the-air broadcast. It should be noted that pressing pretty much any of the buttons will cause the keys to illuminate.If there were any minor nits to pick, it’d only be that the font weight is lighter in some buttons and that hitting the illumination button clearly shows that they’re using maybe 6 crude red LEDs to light the keypad versus the even-lit amber on the original. Given the value, performance, and faithful key layout they overwhelmingly keep my score pegged at 5 stars.

This product is a perfect replacement of the original Samsung remote control, with a fraction of price. Somehow, it is much lighter than the original, but all buttons function as expected.

I ordered it as a backup to our main remote since my kids are very good at breaking things. When it arrived (6 months ago) I tested it and everything worked. Today I opened it to use and it only worked for the first button push. Now it isn’t responsive and I think some electrical component burned out or something since it isn’t batteries.

This remote was to replace a remote that quit working for my Samsung TV that is 12 years old. It worked right out of the box with no programming. Surprisingly, it also worked for my Sony Blu-Ray player. A great value.

Glad I purchased this item after my original got lost in moving. Works great!
