Amazing book for understanding the concept of forgiveness
It is one thing to say, okay I forgive you and move on, but quite another to put that practice into action and completely understand it. The author explains and leads you through it in such a loving and wonderful and compassionate way. It's more about Loving and caring enough for yourself to do it, releasing the hurt, anger and resentment. It's a gift to yourself. I loved this little book and will probably read it again and again as needed.

Not what you might think.
The idea of forgiveness takes on a new perspective when we realise that it has nothing to do with the other person. They can still be a jerk. You are not letting them off the hook. You can still not speak to them. They need not know that you have forgiven them. You can even forgive someone and still sue them for what they did. Because true forgiveness is actually a practical way of taking care of our own well being, and becoming free from any bad effects of past hurts.Nor does forgiveness mean bottling up our hurt and acting like it never happened. The author shows how the process can and should include the setting of new boundaries to protect ourselves. The author's insight goes deeper still. For example, often we "invite" trouble through our conditioned behaviour. Such as, if we learned as children to suppress our own needs, then n adult life that can show up as excessive people-pleasing which inevitably leads to resentment and conflict. The author shows how forgiveness can be used as an effective tool to free ourselves from past conditioning that no longer serves us.Many, many more beautiful ideas are to be found in this gem of a book. But do they work?In my experience, yes. I'm only part way through this book, taking time to apply the practices as I go along. Already, I am experiencing more joy, more freedom, more confidence... and more vitality, because holding on to things from our past uses up energy which we can reclaim for ourselves through the practice of true forgiveness that is detailed here.Highly recommended.
