This is probably one of the better made, more durable products from Solo. It is highly effective at stopping sparks and well designed for reloading wood and pellets. But, it is very pricy and does not work well with the heat deflector, the top screen can not be removed without first removing the heat deflector, which is very hot!!!

Yes, they are expensive but remember this is a Solo fire pit we are talking about. If you want inexpensive then just get a standard fire pit from Walmart. These are well-built from quality materials and for the Stove perfectly. It will turn color, which is expected, so don’t fall in love with the shiny finish it comes in. It will prevent large embers from flying out, but the tiny ones will still get through. Not an issue since these fizzle before hitting anyone or anything. It’s the big ones that are dangerous and this shield works for those. The ridges for holding the s’more (or hot dog) sticks is a nice touch. And the handles are made if high grade and heavy steel.
