Skymax 150mm Maksutov-Cassegrain - Large Aperture Compound-Style Reflector Telescope

When I first got this telescope, all I had was the AZGTI mount.... It actually was able to hold the scope with a counterweight, the mount was actually accurate in it's goto function as well. Very good scope, no longer uses schot glass though so bad advertising...

Very happy with this scope! The views are nice, and no calibration is needed. The only limitation is it’s light-gathering ability - you can’t really zoom in anymore if you want to be able to see anything unless you’re looking at the moon or possibly planets (haven’t bought the eyepiece yet for this). I bought an eyepiece that lets me zoom in slightly for different objects (like the Hercules Cluster). I’m tempted to try an eyepiece that gives me a wider field of view, but I’m afraid the loss of light wouldn’t be worth it. I can see why the size up from this one is almost twice as much. A good scope regardless though.

Item arrived damaged during shipping, packaging was insufficient, with little to no bubble wrap. I had to provide extra bubble wrap to return this item so that more damage did not Occur to the item during return shipping to seller!

I’ll let the attached pictures do the talking. I purchased this telescope to try it out for deep sky and planetary astrophotography and it is doing a stellar job (no pun intended) Pictures are of Messier 5 globular cluster and Messier 100 Spiral Galaxy. My skies are Bortle 7 and I use a Nikon Z50 unmodified camera. The photos are 132 and 232 stacked 30 second images taken at 3200 ISO. No filter was used ( I tried a light pollution filter but the first images were too dark)

A really nice Telescope that is easy to use and has great clarity. I easily swap out my Nexstar 8se and use the standard Celestron mount. Yes, you can mount the 150mm Skywatcher on the same mount. (It was impossible to get this simple straight answer on different treads for some reason.) lol. Saturn, Jupiter and the Moon look splendid as well. Im very new to Astronomy but this device just makes me want to get out and learn more.

So far I am loving this telescope. I have dabbled throughout the years and finally decided to get serious about astronomy. This is miles ahead of anything I have had before including a Dobsonian mount 8" reflector. The images are razor sharp and the stars are bright and crisp. I am just now getting into astrophotography and this along with the Sky Watcher EQM-35 Pro is a great pair. Love this scope!

Compre el Skymax 150 y estoy muy contento con la compra, lo utilizo para observación polivalente. Vivo en una zona con bastante contaminación lumínica, solo el zenit puedo decir que es lo mas oscuro que tengo y puedo decir que para ver los planetas no hay problema en lo absoluto, se ven muy bien. En cielo profundo puedo ver algunas, nebulosas, cúmulos y por el momento solo he visto a Andromeda. Aunque Andromeda se ve muy bien con unos binoculares. Tratare de buscar la galaxia del ojo negro, que ya la pude encontrar con mis binoculares y se ve como una estrella muy difusa, espero que con el telescopio la pueda ver un poco mejor. Les recomiendo que antes de adquirir su primer telescopio, compren primero unos binoculares, unos 20x80 ayudan mucho para comenzar a aprender y también como apoyo para utilizar el telescopio. Si son principiantes como yo, unos prismáticos les ahorraran tiempo y no se frustraran.

El producto llegó en excelentes condiciones. Les recomiendo comprar oculares adicionales para sacarle el máximo provecho. Sus aumentos teóricos máximos están por 300x, con el ocular de 28 mm tienes 64 aumentos, pero su calidad es muy buena.

Hace meses compré este tubo llegó a tiempo y muy bien protegido pero me decepcionó un poco la calidad de la pintura en lo que respecta a la parte interna del aro blanco donde está la lente pareciera que lo pintó un novato, en cuanto a lo demás muy bien!
