Darned Expensive, but worth the price of admission.
After a year, these seem like great socks. They are made of 54% nylon and 43% merino wool. I’ve worn them in some pretty demanding conditions; particularly hiking (in hiking boots, not running shoes) on steep trails, in rain, and in hot humid weather. They’re thin, and provide just the right amount of cushion and breathability in hot weather. For cooler weather I prefer the DT mid weights. Not much else to say. DT socks are pretty darned expensive, but they’re holding up better than my Lorpen socks have under similar conditions. I’ve found my new brand of socks.

Absolutely the Best Hiking Socks
I'm not going to lie, when I bought these, I bought three for a thru hike and thought to myself, "Do I really need to be spending this much money PER sock???" The answer is a resounding yes, they are worth every penny. These socks are durable enough that I've noticed no wear and tear, and they've been with me through many backpacking and hiking trips (probably close to 200 miles at this point?). You can definitely wear these socks for multiple days in a row and not feel as if they are gross or smelly (thank you merino wool). These are lighter than other hiking socks, so they dry a lot faster than I'm used to compared to a higher wool percentage. You might find as a result that they aren't as thick or plush as you're used to in other hiking socks, but they are cushioned enough for my feet for sure. I actively advocate for these socks in my real life, so I'm bringing that to you guys too.

My favorite sock!
Tried one pair and now I own 6! I never thought I would wear wool socks in the summer but here I am in my darn tough while I write this. I hate having damp feet and these have solved my problem! As a firefighter I tend to be in boots for long periods of time and my feet thank me for wearing these over cotton socks and yours will too!

Like the snug feel
Buddy of mine was wearing some with his Crocs. I asked what kind and he said Darn Tough. He sold me on them especially with their lifetime warranty. I’m a picky sock person. I usually get 2 other name brands that are all smartwool. I like those too but my next pair of socks will be another pair of Darn Tough.

By far the best socks.
I love these socks. I’ve worn these > 100 times and they are still like new. Great for every day, bud also hunting. I invested in 20 pairs. I think I am set for life.

...but the large is not quite large enough for my size 12 feet

Solid option for hot weather
Great socks, feet stayed dry even when hiking in 85° weather for hours.

These socks are worth it!
These are fantastic hiking socks. Comfortable and with an unbeatable guarantee. I started with the ankle socks and liked them so much I bought the crew socks as well.
