Great welder for the price.
Works well. Tig works good and stick welds good as well. Small and compact but packs a punch. Recommend for a home user that wants to learn or just have a good welder at home that doesn't take up much space.

Great for beginners and learning to lay beads!!
Overall it works, the only feedback here and is not documented anywhere. The gas port is a push on nozzle, so I had to cut off the end of the gas gauge screw on fitting, heat up the tube and press it on. Not sure why they don't make a screw on. The pedal and torch trigger is off/on, not variable to control amps. But can't expect that for the price. The instructions are very poor. If you aren't familar with welding already, you may find it tough to follow along. There are very few youtube videos on this. The pros - It has a post gas dial for x seconds of gas flow. This is great. The price is amazing. It also does stick. For the price and doing small jobs with steel up to 16 gauge, up to 1/8 or 3/16 possibly (non structural) this is a great welder. Note: You will need to buy a bottle and fill it at your local gas welder supply. Plan on at least another $250 for the bottle, and $80 for it to be filled. So a bit of upfront cost.

Great Welder for the money.
Overall a great unit for the money. The leads are probably the only bad part. I purchased this S7 unit February of 2022 and it finally died on me yesterday. It was not commercially used. But as a DIY guy that does a few, larger projects. (3-4 projects a year. Welding 3-4 days each time for about 6 hours a day.) Its hard to say why this one died, because it actually died while I was using a grinder- not while welding. So for $100 its worth the money. Produces smooth, good quality welds if set right and if Welder properly. Im not a professional, but have been welding long enough to figure it out, but not long enough to get a consistent weld with every string. I did use it up to 1/8" rod on 3/16" material. I did not get to try out the Tig function due to no tank.

Really impressed with this little rig
I’m pretty blown away by this little rig. I got it for a few little exhaust fabrication projects on my rally bikes. I really didn’t even shop around or read reviews I just pulled the trigger on one and it was here in just a few days. First off: the quality of the machine is pretty impressive. I didn’t expect the fit and finish to be as good as it was. I’m also impressed by the fact that it has post flow settings and an automatic gas flow on/off What surprised me even more is that this isn’t a strike start welder, it’s not a lift start welder, it’s a high frequency start welder. I thought that feature was reserved for high end machines, yet here it is on a $197 Chinese welder. It’s a super nice feature which allows you to keep your tungsten much cleaner than with strike start. I made two modifications to this machine: 1) the 3/32 tungsten holder was more like 1/16, so my fresh 3/32nd tungsten (not included) didn’t fit. I had to grab my 3/32 drill bit and drill it out, not a big deal 2) I moved the high frequency start button to a more ergonomic position for my style of welding. That’s not the fault of the machine, just my preference. Overall this is a great machine if you want to learn how to tig weld, or if you have a few projects you need to knock out. I’m very happy so far and will update this review if anything changes. Note: tungsten, argon, regulator, and welding helmet not included. You will need to plan to get an argon tank which is anywhere from $80-180 for a hobbyist plus a fill. Enjoy! Update: it’s been at least 6 months now and the welder is still going strong for my occasional projects. I really cannot think of anything negative to say about this little rig, it has been flawless.

This machine is actually free
Why would you ever buy the max star. Hand trigger works great for out of position thin stainless tubing. Got a longer lead ground for feild work. Been welding stainless steel for 9 years and this is perfect for me. Can’t believe high end companies don’t use these. 95 degrees outside in ca and no overheating, dragged through rain and mud and welds are still gold. For a long stainless passes I have never exceeded duty cycle however the torch will get hot. Save your money and buy this. Most of welding is electrode set up anyways. Thank you s7 I have made my family lots of money without the expensive get up of larger companies.

Seems good quality, but some issues.
Recieved 2 out of the 3 pictured cups (4,5) Received 2 out of the 3 tungsten collets (not labeled so no idea what sizes they actually are) Received one of two pictured collet bodies. Everything feels like it's really good quality except the stick welding lead and ground..they aren't even arms length, they are less than that. One immediate issue I have is if they are going to put these little push fit gas line connectors on these machines they should come with a hose. My flowmeter has an adapter for that kind of connection but it does me no good without a hose and I can't use my actual argon hose because they put the push connector on it. If they made the working leads longer and either included a hose or changed the hose fitting this would be a really good option for this price point. But having to buy new cords for the working leads ($50-$100+ depending on length) and buying a hose when the store is open ($10-$15) you'd be better off buying a different machine at the same price that already includes longer leads and a hose. Also no freebie tungsten included so you'll have to buy that too lol

Better deal than a HF tig
Very nice welder for the price. I'm not very good at welding but if you dial in your settings right it can lay some nice beads. You can weld thin metal on a 120v 15a circuit but anything more you'll want a 20a or ideally a 240, but that is not at all the machine's fault. It would be nice if it included a better instruction manual.
