Kingston Apple 1GB 667MHz DDR2 SoDimm iMac and MacBook Memory (KTA-MB667/1GR)

It did not improve my macbook speed, but I don't know if the problem is the memory or the Leopard software.

I work with RAW files in iPhoto and Aperture and found it was bogging my computer down. Moving from one file to the next was slow if I made any changes at all. I talked to Apple and they suggested boosting the ram. The Apple customer service person told me that Kingston was a good brand and that installing ram was the only thing she would suggest a consumer to do to their iMac. She said my 20" (late 2006 white body desktop dual core) iMac will hold 4GB (2 in each of the two slots, but will only use 3GB. So I should order a 2GB and a 1GB. Why pay for 4 when it won't use it? She also said it was ok to mix size as long as they matched each other otherwise. It took me while to find the right memory for my computer. I learned that my desktop actually takes memory that usually says "laptop" in the description. As long as it is 667MHz, DDR2, SoDimm unbuffered and for Apple computers it would work in my model. I learned from a reviewer on Amazon that Kingston makes two qualities and to get the KTA. I took all this advice and ordered from Amazon because I trust them and knew if there was a problem, it would be taken care of. Plus the price was good and FREE shipping is always nice. Some sites charge $6 or $7 for a tiny package. I got them both quickly, but a day apart for some reason. They are considerable smaller than PC versions.They were easy to install. I've installed memory in PC's (never a Mac) before but I still I got instructions from the Apple website. I just unplugged everything, laid it down, and took off the middle grate on the bottom. Be sure to softly pad the surface you lay your computer face down on. I pulled the white clips and they popped loose. Apple says you will "hear a click" when they seat, but you must have to be a dog to hear it. I did FEEL a little soft snap though. Just FYI, large bold print said "don't use the security clips to seat memory". I fired it up and it worked perfectly. I can tell a difference from the 1GB total to the 3 I now have. Especially when working in Aperture with raw files.

It did not meet expectatios; wrong fit. Returned to sender on October 21, 2014.

i try to wait a few years before upgrading stuff - glad i waited in this instance, as this 1GB upgrade was 1/10 the cost of the original RAMsuper easy upgrade for my Aluminum 20" iMac, which came w/one 667Mhz DDR2 1GB stick, leaving one empty slot:(directions are printed on the bottom of the stand!)1. shutdown, unplug2. plop face down3. raise stand4. unscrew vent plate5. pull out left plastic flap6. push in ram stick7. push in flap8. screw plate back in9. stand up, plug in, power up!i have noticed that VLC now 'snaps' into operation - will definitely save on some paging on the internal drivethanks, Kingston!

I have a Macbook that I purchased in the beginning of 2008 to use in my Real Estate Business. I needed to upgrade the memory after I installed Snow leopard so I purchased the Kingston Apple 1GB memory and slide it in the slot in the back. It works great now with the 2GB of memory. Just know that you have to buy 2. The first time I bought 1 and I had to order another. I did not realized that there was 2 slots for the memory and both should be filled. I didn't have to pay a technician to do it. Go for it my MacBook is like new now.

Came as promised. My 7 yr old macbook revived up...and I loved it. The package is simple to open and installing was easy as well.

My A-Tech customer service expierence was excellent. Product arrived as described. After installation memory passed all diagnostic tests and performs flawlessly.

Functions as it's supposed to....
