Instructions say to wash in luke warm water. Is this for the micarta handle? Can you wash the blade with hot water?

You can wash the entire blade and micarta handle in warm soapy water. Rinse well and hand dry . Be very careful , the blade is extremely sharp. Never put a high quality knife in the dishwasher. The dishhwashing process can damage both the blade and handle. This is particularly true with Japanese Damascus knifes due to the layering process used to manufacture the knives.
