Harmony House Dried Mixed Bell Peppers, Diced – Dehydrated Vegetables for Cooking, Camping, Emergency Supply and More

Love these dried mixed red and green pepper pieces. Excellent flavor, easy to use and store. They are shelf stable. There are nany uses for these pepoers.. Add directly to simmering soups, stews, crock pot, instant pot or oven preparations that have a liquid base. I have rehydrate the peppers in a microwave safe bowl with water for use in potato salad, fried potatoes and egg dishes. If the food item you are preparing has adequate liquid and will be cooking for at least 5 or more minutes, add directly to the that preparation. If I am using in a quick cook recipe or adding to cold dishes I always rehydrate the peppers first in the microwave or even in a small amount of simmering liqued. Drain and add to your cold item such as macaroni or potato salad, pasta salads, homemade salad dressings. Also Excellent addition to simmering pasta sauce, baked beans, soups, casseroles.

The moment I first opened this canister, my kitchen smelled of fresh peppers. They are just amazing and so handy when you’re out of fresh or it’s the time of year when fresh just don’t look that ‘fresh’ in the grocery store. They are always available to me right up on my cupboard shelf. I like to cover in boiling water for a few moments to reconstitute them when adding to pizza or another recipe unless I’m making soup which of course will do the trick by itself in the broth. I’ve started to add other dried veggies to my cupboard as well as a result of these gems. Now no matter what time of year it is, I can make nutritious recipes that taste like they contain fresh veggies.

OMG! next best thing to fresh !!!!!! I store these in the freezer to maintain freshness. They have awesome flavor and store for like ever. These are really easy to use, Since I'm pretty much home bound, having these on hand save me from a 30 mile round trip drive into town to the big box grocery store. I usually buy fresh, then clean and chop up fresh produce to freeze for use in soups and stews. But that takes a lot of time and freezing causes ice crystals which destroy texture of veggies and delicate and robust flavors. These freeze dried have lost very little, they taste almost like fresh cut veggies. I'm soooo impressed, These are so much better then brand name spice manufacture freeze dried products. I have used almost all of HARMONY's products now, and all are top notch and flavorful. MOST LIKE FRESH THEN ANYTHING I HAVE EVER TRIED ! you cant go wrong here. NOTE: rehydrate the copped onions in a little water and refrigerate a bit to firm up. THEY are fantastic on hot dogs, bruats and burgers !

Actually the peppers reconstituted nicely although it is missing the aroma and taste of fresh peppers. I expected that but thought I'd try them anyway. I didn't have success when adding directly to dishes being cooked as it Takes a long time to reconstitute but I did notice that there was some pepper flavor added. I suspect that these may work great but first have to be sure the best way of reconstituting.

I was looking for a simple solution to adding sweet [rather than hot] pepper to my steamed veggies and was not able to find any dried bell peppers in any of my local stores... so of course... I turned to Amazon... and was thrilled to find these Harmony House dried diced mixed bell peppers, and at a super price for the amount you receive. Easy storage and always available, they are exactly what I needed! Shipping was fast, and my green beans got that extra something they needed besides a smidge of garlic to bring our their yumminess. Highly recommend... and THANK YOU Harmony House for solving my culinary problem!

Love this mix, if you soak it first it is great for putting on meat before grilling or roasting. You can also mix other dried herbs in for extra flavour. Nice big jar, not that expensive.
