What Women Don't Know (and Men Don't Tell You): The Unspoken Rules of Finding Lasting Love Paperback – September 15, 2009

Excellent book. A must read! I purchased this book for a womens book club hosted by the church I attend. The book is co-authored by a woman and man, so it offers both perspectives ladies! The perspective and advice that Pastor Joel A. Brooks offers is priceless. In one of the chapters, he encourages women to see their true value and worth as they are dating, and explains how men respond to women based on how the woman esteems herself. He masterfully illustrates the concept of value and worth using a metaphor of boutique versus bargain shopping---you have to read it for yourself!. If possible, invite the authors to speak at the close of your book club. Our book club was able to have Pastor Joel Brooks as a guest to host a discussion and Q&A segment on the book. I plan to read the book again with my tween daughter.

Single women really should read this very practical book.

A friendship of six years ended when he chose another woman to be his girlfriend within four months of dating her. I was crushed. This book is incredible and has been helping me to understand myself better as well as taking me back to the scriptures to heal and become stronger in Christ. Who is my true love! This besides the bible will be my go to book. The questions at the end of each chapter are deep and thought provoking. Michelle and Joel out did themselves with writing this book. I give it 5 stars

This book was VERY well written and totally met me right where I was. As I turned each page, I could see myself and where I went wrong in past relationships. Their use of scriptures from the bible and other helpful analogies just helped to drive the messages home. Let me just say: these two KNOW what they are talking about. There wasn't a single thing they mentioned that was off target. Just about topic they covered, I could easily identify an example from my own life or that of other's lives that confirmed what they were saying. I highly recommend this book for a woman that wants to get a good foundation on the proper mindset, emotional state, and attitude that is most beneficial for her to engage in a healthy relationship with a man. The book will also show how having these 3 things will help you with discerning the various male relationships you can encounter.

I was a little misled by the title. Overall great book but I preferred the male narrator as this was something I wanted to hear from a males perspective. If you are already married it might not be as helpful since most of the advice is preliminary. Good for singles needing some guidance.

This book is straight forward and lacks the lace and frills that are typically wrapped around books like this. It gives realistic examples (because I hate it when a book pretends we're all saints and gives idealized scenarios so you can't relate it to what really happens in life) and is very straight forward-easy to read. It's the best relationship book I've read so far out of many. Also it is very geared toward women but doesn't leave men out of the picture, a mans voice is definitely present as well as a womans--the balance is nice.

I found this book to be exceptional! I learned more about myself and also more of what God wants for me. It was very relatable to relationships and dating not to mention personal experience. It will definitely get you thinking and encourage self evaluation and refelction. I really enjoy books that I can actually feel like I have acquired wisdom and can walk away with some very key tools that I can apply to my life. A renewing, change and restoration of your thinking and approach to relationships should take place after reading.

Overall, I found this book to be enlightening. It has some great points that you can kind of twist to fit your life. I even took things from it that were unrelated to the overall topic- which I always like in books. There were definitely parts that made me roll my eyes with a "don't patronize me" feeling but I can also appreciate that perhaps I'm not quite the audience it was written for. I will say that Chapters 12 made me gawk ("the audacity!") and I'd skip it all together if you're still enjoying the book at that point. It's probably why it lost two stars for me.

This book is great for both singles and those in relationships. It gives great tools on how to assess your relationship and what we as women should/shouldn't tolerate. Facts about men and how they operate we're also very beneficial. A must read!!!

A very engaging, insightful book that provokes thought, I will no doubt read again and again and again. Would definitely recommend!
