A.W. Tozer has become my favorite Christian writer. Through his writing, God had taken me to another level in my Christian walk. I would recommend reading Tozer's Attributes of God or Knowledge of the Holy before any of his other writing. You need to understand who God really is before his other works can speak to your heart more fully. The God that most of those in the modern church worship is not the God of the Bible - he's 'the love god', something we've created to look like us, a god that makes us feel comfortable, a god that winks at our sin. I've read a lot of Tozer since the Attributes, and I'm convinced that he and I would have been kindred spirit had we lived in the same era. He tells it like it is without any sugar coating - something the church is in desperate need of. Tozer was a prophet. Much of what he wrote about has indeed come true in the postmodern era. He will challenge you to go deeper into the heart of God.

There were none greater than the works of A. W. Tozer. Every book he wrote, or that was written from his sermons after his death, are challenging and precise. They will draw you closer to the will of God for your life. I love them all and recommend them all. If you want to lay aside modern fallacy and get back to the tried and true old-time religion that will get you there - You're in the right place. A. W. Tozer was a dedicated and Godly man. His works still inspire today, 50+ years after his death.

AW Tozer expresses himself very clearly. Has a tremendous love for the Lord, and shares it simply, so any reader can understand.The book tells of the humble beginnings of young Tozer: being so poor he could not afford a formal education, but, through prayer and reading, was blessed with an outstanding understanding of The Bible; The Lord; and HOW to communicate with the Christian World!Loved reading this book! This is all classic Tozer. I like Tozer's books better than his compilations of sermons or articles. This book is a compilation of sermons. Nonetheless, these are little gems that reflect the man who wasn't satisfied to know ABOUT God but rather to KNOW God personally. The message excerpts on the included CD are great though the packaging around the material (intros and outros) are not very helpful.

A W Tozer is one of my very favorite authors. His rich revelation and insight is absolutely unmatched. I am however very very very disgusted with this transaction. The book is pictured with a CD and that is the reason that I wanted this. The first copy I received DID NOT have the CD included. I called an spoke to an operator who apologized and said that she would send the book again with the CD included. I received the second copy today and NO CD.!!! Absolutely ridiculous!!! I supposed I will call again and see what happens...Maybe I will end up with 3 or 4 or 5 or whatever how many it takes to get what is pictured!!!! FRUSTRATED AND ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTED with this transaction. How is it that you call and state that there is NO cd and you are promised a cd and then you get a book...a second book with NO CD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!....smh

The Fellowship of the Burning Heart is another book from the theologically eclectic "Pure Gold" series from Bridge-Logos Publishers. A.W. Tozer is viewed as a modern day prophet. Many of the ideas he puts forward from these sermons from the mid-twentieth century are still the very issues Christians are wrestling with today. Tozer's blend of earnestness and humor makes for interesting reading. His heart of love for God shows through and will draw the willing reader to great thoughts of God and a more loving heart toward Him. The biographical essays on Tozer, though somewhat repetitive, provide good introductory material for the reader so that he or she knows something of the man before reading his sermons. Overall, this is a good book for one who wants a sampling of Tozer's writing as well as a brief introduction to his life. The audio CD included with this edition is a nice bonus. In my opinion, it is really hard to go wrong with any book from A.W. Tozer, so keen is his insight into the person of God and the heart of man.
