it works
great for what it is, firm pressure that adds support around front back and sides of this area of the leg, i suffered from a previous fracture to my tibial plateau, weak quads ensued post knee scope, this helped take some of the stress off my muscles and aided in recovery. it actually reduced overuse pain. ive worn it asleep, during the day, and playing sports (hockey) no issues.

Shin Splint Relief
I know this is labeled first for calves, but I bought it for the major shin splint pain I endured on my last run which has left me limping. Omg, within seconds after putting it on I felt the relief. I am impressed. Seriously, certain movements even to raise my legs to sit or up into bed was excruciating pain, but not with this sleeve. I did sleep with it due to the pain I was feeling the night before and I just don't want to take it off. I will, after work today, to give my leg some breathing time. I bought 2, since its one sleeve per package. I plan to alternate and update reviews down the road if anything changes. I know about compression for blood flow, I am an RN, these are great also if you are on your feet a lot or sitting a lot. Its cold weather right now so these don't bother me in fact its like a leg warmer. Not sure how hot they will get in the summer time though. Sizing. I measured my calves and both were about 14” (who would have thunk it? I thought mine were smaller), so I ended up ordering a medium (14”-15”) just incase I didn't want them to be too small. Well, not sure if maybe I measured wrong or the way they fit is super snug, but I feel I could be borderline M-L. It was a bit challenging when I got to the thicker part of my calve to get the sleeve up the leg but it was doable. I don’t feel like its blocking my circulation. I feel supported and im not limping. High quality feel too. Thick like the picture. Not thin like compression stockings. I hope it works for you too.

Just the right amount of compression...
Product is well made and does the job. It protects my shins and calves and gives just the right amount of compression.

I measured my calf at the largest point and ordered based on the chart and they fit like a glove
I got these specifically for protecting my shins while doing deadlifts. They were not too expensive so I felt it was worth the risk even though I had a few concerns. Here is what they were and what I found out since using them: 1. They would not fit correctly. Several people said they were way too small or way too big. I don't know what caused their issues--inconsistent quality control, error in ordering or other, but mine fit perfectly. I measured my calf at the largest point and ordered based on the chart and they fit like a glove. 2. They would not be comfortable. They feel great. I like the compression and although they do get sweaty when working out, they don't feel too hot somehow. 3. They would not be good for deadlifting as that is not their intended purpose. They are perfect. They protect my shins very well (and they were pretty torn up from previous lifts) and the bar drags smoothly on them. If you are considering these for deadlifting, I recommend getting them. I have never used any other product so I have nothing to compare them to, but I am pretty pleased with them across the board.

The sizes are fine, great item.
It says on back to measure around the mid calf, My guess is the thickest part of your calf, and the size I got for that guess was dead on. My calf measures a little over 17 , so I got the XL, I thought they might be a little loose, but they are very very tight. But its important to remember, thats how they are supposed to be. Its there purpose to compress to support. I have been consulting with an ironman marathon lifetime runner because I just , after 7 years, got back into running. Another thing to remember is, when putting these on, do it when your skin in dry, it will not slide well on wet skin from sweat and such. And, do it fast, slide it up to the proper position which is a hair before the bending area behind the knee. If you go slow, even within that small amount of time, the little bit of warmth it causes can make you perspire just enough to make it hard to pull up. When some people start out (like me), people with large calves or new runners tend to be prone to give out from lactic acid buildup and these , with proper stretching and calf massage for a month or so, depending on the person, will alleviate that completely, or at least they did with me. Now I no longer need them. Here is the size chart on the back of the package they come in. 12-14 inches = Small 14-15 inches = Medium 15-17 inches = Large 17-20 inches = Xlarge Wash and care is says to wash in warm water with a mild detergent , rinse thoroughly and drip dry. Wash as much as you can, the salt from your body will not only bother your skin, but degrade the material in the support. I wash after every use. 3-star review is directed towards Amazon, not Product...
I ordered size "Large" based on sizing guide. However, upon receipt, the box states "Large" but the compression sleeve itself states "X-large." Anyway, notwithstanding this QC issue, the sleeve appears to be well-made and contoured specifically for supporting the calf (unlike other brands I've tried that are less contoured). Rather than go through the hassle of a return, I'm going to try the larger than ordered size and see how it works.
