DIMENSIONS OF DEERSKIN LEATHER STRIPS: available in 1) single strands of 1/4” x 72” or 1/8” x 36”, or 2) bundles of 25 strings of 1/4” x 72” (total 150 feet per roll). We inspect every piece of deer hide before cutting it in house to ensure consistent thickness and minimal imperfections for every strand, making sure you'll get stunning results for your leather crafts and projects.
STRONG YET SOFT AND SUPPLE: Deerskin leather lace is well loved among leather crafters for its strength and yet soft, supple feel. Also incredibly lightweight, it adds natural texture and aplomb without adding unnecessary weight. However, these leather string cords are not suitable for making shoelaces.
SO MANY WAYS TO GET CREATIVE: Sporting a beautiful range of earth tones, every piece of leather string cord is rustic flair and bohemian creativity waiting for its turn to shine in your projects. They’re fantastic for making leather jewelry, dreamcatchers, keychains, lanyards, leather fringes on bags/pouches/jackets, bookmarks, bracelets and hair accessories, among others.
TIPS FOR USING LEATHER STRIPS FOR CRAFTS: 1) Use a leather conditioner/oil to maintain the softness of these deerskin leather cording to prevent them from drying out. 2) Deerskin absorbs moisture easily. Use a water-resistant sealant to protect your leather lacing ensures your end product’s longevity. 3) As deerskin laces are soft and smooth, knots need to be secured properly to prevent them from becoming undone over time.
THINGS TO NOTE: Dye lots used on our leather ribbon rolls and strings change, so their colors may vary from time to time. If you use our deerskin lacing regularly, please understand that the current color may not always be exactly the same as the previous batch(es).
