Is this another case designed for the 6 and marketed for the 7? I.e. is the extra screen on the 7 usable or covered?

Yup. I don’t even bother with these anymore have bought and returned like 10 from different brands. I eventually found a very cheap one (£2-£3?) from eBay that was made of silicone and it protects the watch just fine. It was one of those that follows the contour of the watch without any square edges. It is old so it’s discoloured but you get the idea..

Description says it will fit Series 7 45mm but reviews suggest it only fits series 6 and below 44mm. Can anyone confirm from experience?

Save yourself the hassle of a return. It does NOT fit series 7. I ended up buying mine from e buy (intentionally spelled this way) as theirs actually fit the series 7!!!

Which iwatch size is best to get currently have 42 but want either 40 or 44 ?

I would suggest the 44, it is a lot better for using your apps .

Can I use a screen protector with this?

You can but it doesn’t stay on for long, I got the plastic cover which clips onto the watch ( screen protector and case in one ) plus you get two in a pack
