Diamond Grout Dimension 9#

This is no ordinary grout. This grout is as much a part of your tile design as the tiles themselves. Make no mistake about it, it is stupidly expensive (I was tempted to deduct a star just for the cost factor) but this really is a case of "you get what you pay for." Paired with the right tiles this grout will send your counter or wall design over the top. But it is not the right grout for every situation. At least, that's my opinion. I wouldn't use this grout with opaque tiles but with glass tile that has translucence, oh wow! This grout makes all the difference. The grout itself is a tiny bit translucent. I believe it has finely ground glass which gives it the translucent feel. I paired it with Sonic Fusion Glass Tile - SF0270 which is a blue glass tile and used it on a counter top. Everyone who sees it loves it. Really loves it. There is something special and unexpected about this grout. I helped out a little with the grouting (I wanted to do all the grouting myself but no one trusted me to do that -- they were wrong, this is the sort of project I am obsessively and artistically good with. I hate painting walls, but when it comes to grout, I'm all in) and I have to say that it was very very easy. You need to follow the manufacturer's guidelines.... you do a small area and wipe off the excess. Another small area and another wipe. Small area. Wipe. Repeat. You get the picture. When you are finished you look it over and see any areas that might need a little more and you fill them in. This stuff comes pre-mixed and I understand it has a shelf life of 2 years. I have some left over so I think I am going to make a little mosaic table. According to the manufacturer, this grout never needs to be sealed and it is highly stain resistant. I can't speak to the stain resistance because I just laid the tile, but if any problems arise I will definitely amend this review. For now, I can't sing the praises of this grout highly enough. BOTTOM LINE: Amazingly gorgeous grout that will become part of your design, not just an inconspicuous accessory to your tile. But it isn't necessarily the right grout for every type of tile. Definitely incredible when paired with translucent tiles. Highly recommend

Purchased for my kitchen renovation and my tile contractor showed me that it wouldn't dry/hold the tiles. When I contacted this vendor for a refund they gave me a run-around and basically blew me off. Never got a refund for this pricey item. I suggest buying it directly from a distributor, in-person, instead of this 3rd party vendor.

This stuff is amazing. Took my glass mosaic tile backsplash installation up to a whole new level. Very satisfied with my first time as a DIYer. It truly enhances the look taking it to a professional level. Crazy expensive but I can definitely see why. I’m so glad I only needed one 9lb bucket. It does look like wet sugar and is messy to work with. You have to be quick and clean about it but it’s all very worth it.

This stuff is pretty great. We used it for our backsplash, as we have translucent glass tiles, and it looks amazing. Lets way more light in than traditional grout would have, doesn't break up the tile at all. It's like a clear/slightly grey color when dry, but I'm super pleased with the outcome. The only downside was the price, and it doesn't go very far so we had to order a second 9# container for the 4 feet of wall space left after the first. Kind of a bummer, but worth it for the final look!

Used with multicolored glass tiles. Looks great. Messy, but not too difficult to apply. Tip - magic sponges do an excellent job of removing residue and leave a smooth finish. Still takes cleaning & wringing them out a few times, but I had no haze left on tiles after wiping down using them. Even when I let grout stay on a slightly too long.

I chose this translucent grout because I wanted to illuminate my clear glass tiles with perimeter lighting. Another customer led me to believe that light would pass from tile to tile through this grout, but unfortunately it doesn't. Only the tiles directly adjacent to the perimeter lights are illuminated. So the claim that it scatters light is true (it glows if directly illuminated) but the claim that it transmits light does not hold up in my experience. In fairness, this product is probably one of the better choices out there if you want translucent grout. But be sure you know what you're getting into. I chose urethane grout thinking that cleanup would be easier than epoxy grout. That may be true, but let's be honest, nothing about this product is "easy". It has the consistency of wet sand and it was challenging getting it to stay put. Once you do get it in place, the grout lines tool nicely provided you take care to wring out your sponges completely before wiping. I won't mince words about cleanup though. It's a nightmare. Although I followed the directions exactly, doing tiny areas at a time and cleaning immediately, it still took many, many hours of strenuous work to get all the residue off my perfectly smooth glass tiles. I definitely would not use this on tile that has any surface texture at all. Now that I'm done, it does look really nice. But unless I am using smooth glass tile and going for a special effect like I was this time, I don't think I will use it again because of the high cost and the amount of work involved.

This gallon came dried out. The tub was less than 1/2 full. What a waist. Not sure what tub was tainted.
