Absolutely one of my favorite purple shampoos! It has a lovely smell, lathers really nicely, and does a great job depositing color without leaving my hair feeling dry or stripped. I’m a dark blonde with highlights, and I usually leave it on for about five minutes to get the toning effect I want. My hair feels soft and looks fresh and nicely toned afterward. The price is also fantastic for the quality and value you get. Definitely on my repeat purchases!

Okay I usually purchase high-end. However, the reason I have ordered John Frieda several times is because the vibrancy / pigmentation of the product. What I mean is, for this particular shampoo I can take this and make it last a year because it just takes a very small amount on my hand and I dilute it with a little of my regular shampoo because it is that strong in its saturation. Which to me is a good thing because it lasts forever! I used to use dp Hue, which is excellent but it is very pricey and it doesn't last as long. It leaves my hair condition looking great and my blonde looking vibrant. So if you want to get a great price and have something that works well for blonde hair and really takes away the brassiness, AND you would like to get your money's worth while also making it last a long time - THIS IS THE ONE.

So far so good - will evaluate results over time. Does anyone else remember when they were growing up, the elderly ladies with purple-gray hair? That is why I put off purchasing purple shampoo. This was recommended for platinum hair, so this is what I purchased. A couple of years ago I purchased a purple Clairol shampoo. It stunk to high heaven, so I threw it away. The John Frieda has a neutral smell, so no problem.

I've tried several other brands of purple shampoos since I first started dying and toning my hair platinum blonde a couple of years ago. Some have off-putting strong scents, some don't lather up that great, and some just don't do a great job counteracting the yellow tones to help toner last longer. That has never been the case with John Frieda's Violet Crush shampoo, and why it's the only purple shampoo brand I now buy. I've always had good luck with all of John Frieda's products and previously used the Sheer Blonde shampoo and conditioner when I used to color my hair with single process box color. The Violet Crush color is super concentrated so you're sure to get some good toning action from it. It lathers up nicely, has a pleasing, light scent that fades after you dry your hair, and it leaves my hair shiny and silverly. I not only use it for color maintenance after coloring, but I find it takes away a bit of the yellow when I use it after rinsing out the bleach from my hair's roots. I have never received any bottles that were damaged or leaking. Usually, they arrive in a plastic bag for added protection during shipping. It's true that purple shampoos can be a little drying, but I haven't found that to be the case with this particular product...however, I now only wash my hair twice a week since I began bleaching it. I use it with a good conditioner that helps repair the hair from damage and makes it soft.

Arrived on time and in good condition. This is the best product I have used to make my curly gray-white hair sparkle. I get loads of compliments. Even from strangers and young people.

It works, almost too well lol. It immediately pulled out some brassy tones and pink tones (my hair is blonde and burgundy and occasionally the burgundy bleeds.) the second time I used it, my hair was purple. But I got right back in the shower and kept rinsing my hair under cool water and it came out. Just be mindful of how long you keep it on for and how much. It’s worth its price.
