MAPEI UltraCare Grout Refresh, Universal Grout Colorant & Sealer, 8 oz Bottle – Easy Grout Restoration & Protection, 5049 Light Almond

This grout formula resembled thick acrylic (wall) paint. I applied this regrout to my kitchen and foyer over 3 or 4 days. It was worth the effort. I didn’t want bright white, and opted for light almond. This matched my original grout color quite closely, and I was pleased with it. When I applied regrout with the provided tip, the bottle was hard to squeeze and then too much seemed to come out. That meant more to clean off tiles. I read other reviews and instead poured a small amount into a small plastic container and painted on regrout with a thin brush. My tile is slightly raised than the grout itself. I wiped with a damp cloth/ paper towel after doing a few tiles at a time- the extra came off very easily. I would ensure some windows are open for ventilation. As expected the product won’t wash off easily from clothing, so take proper precautions. Since applying the regrout, I have mopped several times and the floor still looks great.

This is amazing stuff, I love this brand. tried different brands, but this is the best. My house is 20 years old, with tile floors. I wanted to replace the tile floors about 1200 feet of tile. Instead I repainted the grout see how it would look. The tiles look brand new. The floor looks bright, clean and appealing II is esay to apply, took me 4 weeks to complete the whole house. Works so well, I have now done my 2 daughters house too.

Works very well when color match is an issue for old grout refinishing. Color lasts and was easy to apply but clean up was a challenge. Was recommended by a pro and can save you real money if you are thinking of upgrading grout or doing small grout refurbishing where color may not match perfectly. Update: Several days after applying it, I noticed 2 things. The first was that tiles not clean and buffed right away had lighted from the MAPEI haze that I did not get fully off immediately. Secondly if you have any kind of a sealer or other chemical on the grout it may inhibit the ability to of the refresh to soak in or bond. After speaking with an expert he strongly suggested light sanding of the old grout lines prior to application so that any surface based inhibitor can be removed first.

Great stuff easy to use. I used a bent toothbrush to apply… just dip bristles in the paint and apply to the grout going forward than backward… this makes sure that the paint is applied even and helps it absorb into the grout. I had next to zero overage on the tile but if I did, it took it right off. No mess.

I would suggest using a small paint brush, directions says toothbrush, The toothbrush didn't make it go on smooth and its hard to use a toothbrush in small grout lines. Be warned this stuff smells horrible. Make sure you match your color perfectly with current grout, otherwise you'll be returning it and being charged a lot in shipping. Overall this product is good, I'll try it again once I order another color to correctly match my grout.

This is a great product to change/refresh worn out grouting. We purchased a house with good bones but HORRIBLE tile in kitchen and bathrooms. The grout was stained and could not be cleaned. I used this product on the grout lines and totally changed the appearance. Everyone thinks we have new tile! Be warned, this is VERY time consuming and not to be taken lightly. If you want an amazing result work a section at a time. People ask me how I accomplished the results and I say "one square foot at a time". Saved big money not having to have the tile replaced. Be sure and apply sealer to the new grout color. Love it.
