I would say yes to fruits and veggies that are of the same consistancy as potatoes. I purchased it strictly for fries. I purchased a meat and vegetable slicer for doing tomatoes, cucumber, lettuce etc.

I don't know but did you try the web site? I don't use mine very much anymore so I haven't had to order any parts. Sorry I can't help you, hope you can find the part.

Warranty will not cover damaged unit trying to cut sweet potatoes (if proven). Sweet potatoes are very hard. It is not for cutting sweet potatoes especially large, it will brake/bend the blades perhaps damage the whole unit construction with excessive force. Check on YouTube how to cut Sweet Potatoes.
