Very nice LED kit for the price
This is a very nice little light. The Dimmable and Bi-color features were selling points for me. The accessories are a plus. You get TWO rechargeable Sony lithium batteries AND a charger which can charge both, but the light only runs off of one battery at a time. So you can also switch them out without the light even stopping, or have both attached and auto switch from one to the other. Unfortunately there is no dual-battery meter so you dont know which battery the light is running on, or the metering for each seperate battery. The case is a nice plus too, its small and holds the light and accessories well. The barndoors are made of a heavy metal and seem a little junky and very heavy for the rest of the kit. In this case, I would have rather had them just be plastic to match the light. They or the bag also stink. I've actually removed mine from the bag, and found that my Lumiquest LTP softbox fits perfectly in the lid cover (where the barndoor was). I have velcro and can use this softbox on the LED light as well as my flashes. The warming/cooling color feature is very nice, and you can dial it in to just about what you want. I usually dont want it completely warm, but around the middle, which adds a little warmth for skin tones without looking too yellow and fake. Have also noticed that the middle point of the color pot is also is the brightest output, as both sets of LEDs (white and yellow) are working to full capacity. It has reasonable output and light throw for most indoor shooting, but don't expect to overpower the sun outdoors. With subdued sun/shade you can use it for a bit of fill however.Overall, a very nice LED kit at a reasonable price. Great for fast shoots and nicely compact. Have used it for shooting small closeup stills, food, and one-person head and three-quarter portraits very successfully.Have not used it for continuous (VIDEO) light as of yet, but will update my review if needed (if there are flicker problems, etc. that i might notice for video use).Hope that helps!

Almost perfect... 4-1/2 stars
The big problem with using LED lights for photo and video work is color fidelity. Almost all of them have some sort of nasty color cast that remains on the image after it has been color corrected. This is due to the non-linearity in which it emits its color spectrum. This "quality" of light is reflected in the CRI - or "color rendering index". Sunlight is a perfect 100, and most other forms of light are lower than this. Any LED light which does not advertise a CRI is probably a pretty bad light, so buyer beware. This light claims a CRI of over 92, which is impressively good.A few years back I bought a $40 LED light here off Amazon and it was just terrible. It left a nasty green cast to the images which made them only good for black and white. I literally used it once, then sold it - swearing off LED lights for serious photo work for nearly three years. Since then I've been using incandescent video lights for low-light photo work and have generally been happy. The issue with these, however, is that they are limited in output, have a fixed color temperature, and are power hungry. They were relatively inexpensive, very portable, and had decent (but not perfect) color - so they were good enough. With the impressive specs of this light, I decided to venture back into LED lighting. After a couple wedding shoots with this, I am impressed with the light. They get fairly bright, use very little power, and have lots of great features such as a dimmer, color temperature variability (3200k to 5600k), and battery meter (YES! Finally).I am also happy to report that unlike cheap LED lights of yesteryear, these have decent color. After some investigation, I suspect the >92 CRI rating is for the 5600k setting, not the 3200k setting, though. The color quality at 5600k seems to be quite good, while I can report a noticeable - though not terrible - red color cast at the 3200k setting. Keep in mind that this is going to result in a green tint to the backgrounds when color correcting this light at 3200k. Depending on the nature of what you photography, this might or might not be an issue for you. For me, it's not ideal, but not a deal-breaker either.Given the features, versatility, and quality of the light, I'm willing to let the slight red cast at 3200k slide with a 1/2 star deduction. I'm definitely keeping the light and even thinking about picking up another one. For me, this light is a game-changer for low-light events and portraiture.

Great light kit! Has everything I was looking for!
I've purchased several "cheap" LED light kits and they've been OK. I spent a little more money on this kit and it was totally worth it! It is very bright at full power. It comes with rechargeable batteries, an ac adaptor, and a car adaptor. You can dial in the exact color temperature. It also comes with a great case that everything fits nicely in.The only problem I had was installing the diffuser and barn doors. No manual came with the light so it took me a few minutes to find the knob on the back of the light that you need to pull out on to slide the diffuser and barn doors into place. It is actually a great set up because if you tip the light upside down those accessories will not just slide out again.Overall very happy with this light, once I figured out how to install those accessories!

Impressed
I have the 209 model. It is incredible for the price.I needed another one and after some research decided to tried this one out. The build quality has improved as well as the design. They fixed the few issues that the 209 had such as the magnetic diffuser that would fall off. The barn door is surprisingly well done. The case is sturdier as well. The light seems very similar but with more power. the mounting ball pod is much sturdier. This unit is much heavier than the 209. I mount it on my cinema camera but wouldn't dare use it on a DSLR without a rig. It's top heavy and bounces around a bit which could ruin a few moving shots. Mounting on a articulating arm would reduce that.Bottom line I would buy it again and recommend it very highly for professional use. The quality of light is preferred over my Arri tungsten lights.

Decent light for 15 minutes...
Worked for less than 15 minutes before it started blinking and then shutting down. Tried several times, both with battery, charger attached, AC, etc. Same behavior. It's on its way back. Have the larger, more expensive offering from Fotodiox, and it has worked fine for months. Not this one.
