Solid little kit for quick chips
Setup is pretty simple. I cleaned the glass, stuck the adapter on, then used the syringe to pull the air out and push the resin in. The instructions are wordy, but once you start, it’s basically a couple of steps and some waiting around. I just answered Slack messages between stages. The crack is still faint if you go looking for it, but the scary white burst is gone. Now it just looks like a tiny shadow instead of something that wants to spread across the windshield. That alone made me glad I didn’t ignore it.

Permatex 09103 Windshield Repair Kit Stopped My Chip from Spreading 🚗
This Permatex 09103 windshield repair kit works great for small chips, star breaks and bullseye damage on auto glass. The clear resin requires no mixing and cures under natural sunlight, with simple step-by-step instructions included. A rock chip on my windshield threatened to grow into a long crack, so I tried this DIY kit. After cleaning the damage and applying the resin properly, the repair hardened smoothly. The blemish became much less noticeable, and the crack has not expanded through months of temperature swings. The kit is compact and easy to store in my garage. It saved me the high cost of a full windshield replacement. It only works for small damage, so read the limits first. I would absolutely recommend this kit for anyone with minor windshield damage.

Decent kit but needs some patience
I grabbed this for a small chip on the family SUV so I did not have to schedule a glass guy. The kit works and the chip on the passenger side is less noticeable now. Hardly see it from the driver seat, which is what I cared about with kids in the back asking what that “crack” was. The syringe setup is a bit fiddly though. I had to watch a YouTube video because the paper instructions felt rushed and the resin dripped once when I bumped it. Took about 30 minutes start to finish. For a minor chip it makes sense. If your crack is already long, I would probably call a pro next time.

Saved Me from an Expensive Windshield Replacement
The Permatex Windshield Repair Kit is a simple and effective solution for repairing small chips, bullseyes, and minor cracks in a windshield. I was skeptical at first, but the kit was easy to use and noticeably improved the appearance of the damage. The repair helped stop the crack from spreading and made the blemish much less visible. The instructions were straightforward, and the entire process took less than an hour. While the repair isn't completely invisible, the results were impressive for a DIY product and saved me the cost and hassle of professional repair or windshield replacement. ✅ Pros ✔ Easy-to-follow instructions ✔ Affordable alternative to professional repairs ✔ Helps prevent chips and cracks from spreading ✔ Works well on small chips and bullseye damage ✔ Quick repair process with minimal tools required ✔ Compact kit that's easy to store in the garage or vehicle ❌ Cons ✘ Results may vary depending on the size and age of the damage ✘ Larger cracks may still require professional repair ✘ Repair may remain slightly visible after completion ✘ Requires careful application for the best results Overall, this Permatex Windshield Repair Kit offers excellent value and can extend the life of your windshield when used on minor damage. It's a worthwhile product to keep on hand and can save both time and money when chips occur. Highly recommended for DIY vehicle maintenance.

Windshield kit for weekend hikers
Went for this Permatex windshield repair kit because I drive a beater Subaru up rough forest roads every Saturday. I got a star chip from flying gravel on the way to a trailhead and wanted to fix it before it spread. The resin works well. I followed the directions, stuck the little pedestal on, pulled a vacuum, then let it bake in the sun while I laced up my boots. The chip is way less noticeable now and the glass feels smooth. The only letdown, the suction cup mount feels a bit flimsy and slipped once on my curved windshield. I had to press it down hard and reposition.

small windshield chip stopped catching my eye on the drive home
I bought this after a little rock chip showed up on my windshield during my commute. As a night-shift nurse, I’m usually ready to get home and stop dealing with things, so I wanted a repair I could try myself. I read the directions, cleaned the spot, and applied the resin in the driveway after a shift. It took some patience, but the steps were straightforward. The chip still has a faint mark if I look closely, so I wouldn’t call it invisible. I’m glad I bought the kit because the damage looks less distracting now, and I didn’t have to arrange a repair shop visit on my day off.

Instructions are not intuitive, the key point is unclear.
There is a fundamental flaw in the instructions. On step 6 it says to lock the plunger at the lowest setting. The picture is useless on H- hard to see. But the natural inclination to lock a plunger at the LOWEST setting is the first one you run into. But it actually needs to be the OTHER one of the lock indentions on the plunger. You basically go past the first one unto the 2nd one which is lower IF you start from the right end in your thinking. Totally stupid non-intuitive instructions. It would be much better to label each of these indentions as A and B or to say in the instructions to go PAST the first one to the other one. It all makes sense if you get this point right, because then later on for step 7 where you use the UPPERMOST indent. It is NOT intuitive and it is EASY to get these two mixed up as to which is low and uppermost indent.... and the whole success of this endeavor depends on getting this point right. This review does NOT address the quality of the end result but instead addresses dumb instructions that could EASILY be made clearer. Update: Moved the review to 3 - the star crack was significantly less visible after using this product but of course that doesn't mean long term quality and that a large crack won't soon appear across the windsheild, but so far so good.

Small chip repair
One weekday morning, I used it on a chip from a bit of gravel that had hit the glass on my way to the library. I read the directions first, cleaned the spot, and took my time setting the applicator in place. The steps were straightforward, though I found it helped to slow down and check each one rather than rush. I followed the instructions for the resin and curing film, then left the car in the sun. The mark did not vanish, so I would not expect a repair kit to make old or larger damage disappear. But the chip looked less noticeable afterward, and the repair left me feeling more at ease about driving. I was glad to have the kit on hand that morning instead of watching the mark and wondering whether it was growing. Now I keep the remaining supplies in the garage for another small chip.

It does the job
It can save you from small cracks if properly used. The product is overprized compared to other countries - Germany, USA, Canada.

Great repair for windshield chips
It did a good job for windshield repair. Although it could never remove the big chip completely as magic, it perfectly filled all small cracks which should stop them from spreading further. I would definitely recommend this product.

Fixed my own windshield
I was driving along and a truck came out of a construction site and kicked up a series of stones towards my vehicle. I heard a loud crack and some other noises. When I got home I found a chip near the rear view mirror. I ordered one of these kits, washed the car to remove impacted dirt, let it dry and went about fixing the problem. I had considered one of the windshield repair stores but their prices deterred me and my car is relatively old. It was time for low cost solutions. The process is a little esoteric and involves sticking a plastic mount onto the windshield and then pouring the filler compound into the mount, then varying the air pressure in the mount by means of attaching a syringe and raising and lowering the plunger and leaving it in position for a set period of time. After that you wipe up the excess, stick a little of the acrylic material on a curing strip and apply it over the damaged area and drive the car into the sun. All of this can only be done in relatively warm weather, check instructions for temperature requirements. When I got the car outside I examined the windshield and guess what, there was another chip, and when I looked more closely there was yet another one, although more minor. I ordered kits to repair these two damaged areas and when I was all done I am sure I was able to fix all three for dramatically less than the windshield repair companies charge. The repairs look good and the good news is that they are all repaired as if lef chips can become cracks and then they spread and you are looking at a new windshield. The kit was relatively easy to use and saved a lot of money so I am happy I used it.

Resultado profissional

A windshield repair kit that might save the day
A windscreen "repair" kit that works. It can't save every time, but worth it for hits that haven't really radiated yet. Makes the bullseye etc a lot less distracting, and we've had repairs that helped hold a screen together for years. Better than the time and money on new.
