Just a total eye opener
I had been looking at ultrasonic cleaners for a little while and had always been tempted. I took the plunge and really am over the moon in doing so. Excellently packaged and simple instructions.Having spent many hours looking at various youtube videos on cleaning solutions etc and worrying a bit about getting my records rinsed properly I was very interested that the supplied manual said to use just distilled water (with a couple of drops of detergent if really dirty) and also how the unit should show no agitation if the water was at the correct level. I had no reason to doubt the professionals and am at the timing of writing this listening to a 32 year old record as if it was new. I couldn't be more happy with the results.Seriously, if you're umm'ing and ahh'ing about if you should get one..... DO!

Machine as supplied compact and user friendly, temperature control good came up to working temperature in good time . I found cleaning no more than two records best as cleaning definitely better.

Daft answer to product query from supplier
I asked whether the depth of immersion affected the vinyl cleaning effectiveness. The supplier responded that they recommended "complete immersion". As the rack containg the vinyl to be cleaned cannot be lowered to achieve "complete immersion" I invite prospective customers to adjudge the quality of customer support available. In addition the design of the moveable rack uses plastic discs to keep the record labels dry to avoid costly water damage to the paper labels. Any record collector would not be willing to dump the whole of his vinyl into the water bath. It makes you wonder if the supplier responding to my question had even read the product description at all.I also asked "Is the whole of a 7 inch single's playing surface rotated under water when attached to the rotary device? Does the rotary device descend low enough?". The answer is actually NO unless you fill the water bath over the recommended tank level and lower the rotary device as far as it will go. I bought one of these devices before I submitted these questions. I would advise that prospective customers consider carefully if their intention is to clean 7 inch 45s or EPs. I do not think the shallow immersion possible for the playing surfaces of this type of vinyl is as effective at cleaning the vinyl as for the greater depth of immersion for a 12 inch single of LP. If you dip your fingers into the tank while it is operating there is a clear increase in the "bubble cleaning" effect with increased depth. The device does clean my 45 singles but I have to turn the agitation control higher than if I am cleaning a 12 inch.
