Can I use it to thicken baby food without having to cook it??

Any starch will thicken pie filling including eggs. I tend to pick a starch that would be from something you might find in deserts such as tapioca. So in answer to your question yes this will thicken pie fillings but it obviously ha to be cooked or baked to thicken. I tend to cook the filling prior to baking it to make sure I get the desired consistency.

Good consistency

This tapioca starch is nice and uniformly powdery throughout. Some, although not supposed to be the pear kind, can clump up, which is super annoying when you're trying to thicken something without getting a gross lump of powder in your food. I really appreciate that.
