Do you know what the hardest thing for a German learner is? Finding PROPER reading material that they can handle…which is precisely the reason we’ve written this book! Teachers love giving out tough, expert-level literature to their students, books that present many new problems to the reader and force them to search for words in a dictionary every five minutes — it’s not entertaining, useful or motivating for the student at all, and many soon give up on learning at all! In this book we have compiled 20 easy-to-read, compelling and fun stories that will allow you to expand your vocabulary and give you the tools to improve your grasp of the wonderful German tongue. How German Short Stories for Beginners works: Each story is interesting and entertaining with realistic dialogues and day-to-day situations. The summaries follow a synopsis in German and in English of what you just read, both to review the lesson and for you to see if you understood what the tale was about. At the end of those summaries, you’ll be provided with a list of the most relevant vocabulary involved in the lesson, as well as slang and sayings that you may not have understood at first glance! Finally, you’ll be provided with a set of tricky questions in German, providing you with the chance to prove that you learned something in the story. Don’t worry if you don’t know the answer to any — we will provide them immediately after, but no cheating! We want you to feel comfortable while learning the tongue; after all, no language should be a barrier for you to travel around the world and expand your social circles! So look no further! Pick up your copy of German Short Stories for Beginners and start learning German right now! This book has been written by a native German author and is recommended for A2+ level learners.

Challenging beginner to Intermediate - great reference audio and text book
I have been learning german now for about a year using various audio books and online learning material. This book is perfect if you are looking for something to supplement your other learning material and get used to reading and listening more than a sentence or phrase at a time. As each story has translated words at the end it is a great reference book too.If you get the book the audio file really helps to get the pronunciation correct. After reading a story or two it is good to go back to after a few hours or a day to keep refreshing and the words come up more frequently in the later stories so it helps solidify the learning. Nice work, hope to see lots more books and stories coming in different levels.A side note - this isn't absolute beginner but if you want a challenge and again to supplement your other learning material is a great resource.

Overall, the material is good, BUT!
The stories are amusing, engaging & stimulating BUT! In the vocabulary session noun genders are omitted! How could the authors overlook such an important aspect! Especially if they claim that book focuses on grammar too! I guess one can always look the gender up. Maybe it is better to write it down in the book itself, so you will have a mini vocabulary section. Genders are crucial! I would like the authors take this into account. And one more thing - after each story you are supposed to answer the questions pertaining to the story you read. So, instead of a multiple choice, I would want just questions, so students have more opportunity to construct their own sentences, even if they are basic ones. Overall, the material is good.

The storylines are a bit outdated
The first story contains outdated ideas about how a (married) couple relates to each other (she starts crying to get him to do the right stuff) and that put me off the book quite a bit initially. The summaries don't always seem to be in line with the stories. The rest of the stories seem to be alright.

Buen libro para practicar
Tiene vocabulario nuevo en negritas y el significado está al final del capítulo pero no siempre está en orden e incluso unas palabras no están donde deberían

Good for A2 or B1
Recommended for those who read at A2 or B1 Level. The glossary is very helpful. The stories are each just a couple pages, easy enough to understand.
