Previous reviews bang on the money..
This product smells amazing. All of the other poor reviews are bang on it. It makes your hair feel like you have left conditioner in your hair for a week or haven't washed your hair in a month. It feels sticky, greasy and dirty. You cannot tell from the picture very well but my hair is fully dry, just combed but looks like a sticky birds nest. I'd shop around before buying.

DONT BUY, it's a bar of nice smelling grease.
HOW does this have good reviews? This isn't shampoo. I decided to switch to this shampoo from Faith in Nature because I love the conditioner bar so much (it's amazing, try it!) but this can't even be called shampoo!It doesn't clean at all, all it does is add a layer of admittedly gorgeous smelling grease onto whatever is already there.This "shampoo" is going to do the movement more harm than good! All the folks trying to go plastic free trying this out will think the rest of us are absolutely gross.Please either stick to conditioners or revisit the formula here.

Left my hair waxy
Unlike some other bar shampoos I've tried, this one foamed reasonably well, which was nice. But it left my hair feeling waxy. Not so badly so that it looked bad on the day of washing, but my comb was constantly coated in it. I've read that more 'natural', gentler shampoos can have this effect for a while until your scalp adjusts and produces less oils, but I worked my way through the entire bar, washing every 1-3 days, with no discernible improvement, which seemed like enough of a fair chance and an experiment not worth repeating.

Not for me
Not for me, got the shampoo and conditioner. I've been persevering for about 5 weeks now as I read there can be a transition period. Seems to leave my hair both dry at the top, and greasy feeling at the ends. Might just be it's the wrong product for me. Also seems like I am loosing more hair than usual when brushing :( I like the smell, clean and fresh but not overpowering, and the shampoo lathers up quite well.

using less plastic
I wanted to reduce the plastic in our house and shampoo / conditioner is a major culprit. First time using this product and I love it. The bar admittedly is quite small, but - you don't use much at a time and if left on a suitable drainage tray to dry out between uses, it doesn't go soggy. It literally leaves your hair squeaky clean - will see how long this bar lasts but the cost seemed reasonable to me.

Sticky Hair
Bit of a weird one here. Bought this and a different smell, what I explain happened with both products from Alterative. Love the smell etc but after using I noticed my hair almost seems sticky, like when you go to the beach and get wind swept with sea salt. It felt dirty to touch but it made my hair have a lot of volume which I've never had before. My hair is very thin and sticky so always hangs flat. So I enjoyed the volume but didn't like the feeling. I tried rinsing for looker etc, didn't make any difference and after continued use I started getting dry skin on my scalp and it was quite itchy. Stopped using it, tried didn't brand and the dry skin is gone and my hair feels normal....so yay, make of that what you will

shampoo bar is terrible, unlike the conditioner bar
Bought this by accident thinking it was the conditioner bar (which is good), when I realised I'd make a mistake j thought I'd give the shampoo bar a whirl as the conditioner bar is a really good product. Thought it was strange that it doesn't smell nice or anything like the conditioner counterpart, just of strong plain soap.Tried it on my hair and whilst it lathered up OK as I was rubbing it in I had the feeling it wasn't making my hair feel very clean. I rinsed it off and immediately realised.my hair felt VILE. Almost squeaky-dry but grimey all at the same time?!Genuinely thought maybe I was accidentally sent soap in the box by mistake but looking at other reviews I'm not alone! I've tried quite a range of shampoo bars now and even the ones I decided weren't for me were absolute gold standard compared to this

Greasy and horrible
Horrific. Smells lovely and I was really looking forward to giving this a go on my plastic free journey but its just awful. It leaves a greasy film all over the hair which doesnt wash off. Rinsed thoroughly and dried and my hair looked more greasy than before I washed it. Had to wash all over again with regular shampoo. My children used it too and all came out looking like they'd dunked their heads in a chip pan. Never again
