The finish is beautiful.
I discovered this powder on YouTube when it was compared to Make Up Forever's HD powder. The makeup guru in the video recommended the ELF powder over the MUF and I heartily agree. The MUF powder is $35 or so whereas the ELF brand contains the same amount of product and costs $6!!. In my opinion, both products perform the exact same way. I like the fact that the ELF powder is sheer and adds no color to my base makeup. It blends in seamlessly and helps my makeup last all day. The ELF product contains powdered silicone and silica and causes no irritation to my sensitive skin. I use an oil control toner, a matte sunscreen and a mattifying primer, which helps to control shine. The ELF powder sets my makeup beautifully, providing a soft focus finish that looks really natural. I only wish that it came in a pressed form, which would be more handy for touch ups. I used to use Urban Decay's Naked loose powder, which is $34 and contains even less product than the MUF. The UD powder is tinted however. And while I still use it occasionally, I recently purchased two ELF HD powders on Amazon because I am truly impressed with the product. And like I've said, there's a lot of product in the ELF container, which makes it doubly economical. I would swear that the MUF and ELF powders have exactly the same ingredients. Both leave my face soft and smooth. I use the ELF powder over Armani Luminous foundation or Bare Minerals Bare Skin and it provides a flawless finish. Tinted powder changes the color of my base makeup somewhat, which I don't always want. I only use the remaining UD powder when I'm going out at night (I have to use it up, it was expensive!). I also use the ELF setting spray, which I like a lot. Like it promises, the ELF powder doesn't sink into fine lines. It isn't quite a matte finish, however. But with the other products I use, it seems to help control most of the oiliness that breaks through by the end of the day. I can always use blotting papers if necessary. I keep some of the powder in my makeup bag for touch ups. I also like the ELF lip exfoiliator, which works really well and contains sugar granules. I purchased the ELF powder on Amazon because my local Target was out of stock. Thankfully, the Amazon Prime price was the same as Target with free shipping too. On the ELF website, they charge $6 or $7 for shipping unless you spend more than $25 (and I didn't need anything else) so Amazon had the best price. All in all, I really like this product and like the makeup guru whose review I saw, I heartily recommend it.

Highly recommend!
This e.l.f. powder is lightweight and gives a smooth, natural finish. It helps reduce shine and keeps makeup in place for a long time. Easy to apply and blends well without looking cakey. Great budget-friendly option for everyday makeup

Really Great Setting Powder
I really like this setting powder. It doesn't make my makeup look cakey or flakey and I have EXTREMELY dry skin. Like the Sahara desert. This setting powder locks my look in and doesn't budge, giving me a soft radiant look. I live in Arizona and even in this summer heat of 118 degrees, my makeup doesn't move. I will be buying this setting powder again. My only issue is that it comes in such a small container with so little amount of powder.

I'm 50 and love this powder!
This powder is odor free and feels like silk. It is extremely light and translucent on the skin. I would recommend it for any skin type. I have combination skin and it works fantastic on my face.

Always Satisfied
I don't know why some of these reviews are saying it is too "glittery". I don't have that problem, at least with the translucent, and have been buying this same product for the last 10 years (maybe more, not sure anymore!) since I first I saw it in a store before it was available online. Will always use it and recommend it. I primarily use the translucent so that may be why. Sets the finish perfectly. Since I started using it all those years ago, I always get the compliment that my face is "flawless". I can use it with just a tinted moisturizer, a Cc or BB cream, and my foundation without it being "cakey". The luminous pod does have a glitter effect to it but there's a reason and you're not supposed to use much. My advice? If you don't want too much glitter, use less and only put in the areas you want to highlight rather than your whole face. Any makeup artist will tell you - lighter colors bring things forward and darker colors push things back. It's a trick of the light and the eye that makes the difference. I have a super dark birthmark on the side of my face that people have always said "you need to blend your makeup in". You'd never know it was there now thanks, in part, to this. If you just want the matte finish with the flawless look, always go with the translucent. Make sure to read the description as well - works best with a full coverage foundation. I use Phoera, which is absolutely AMAZING stuff & requires very little to be effective. It's my perfect combination. I haven't tried the yellow powder yet as my complexion is lighter. Purple and yellow are opposites on the color wheel, so I advise using the yellow to cancel out any undesired purple areas of a lighter face - like bruises or under eye circles - if your complexion is lighter. Like anything, it'll take practice to see what combination works best for your makeup regiment and complexion. I'd advise getting all 3 and play around with them to figure what'll work best for you. I plan to buy the yellow soon to test it out. The picture I attached is without a filter. All I'm wearing is my Tinted moisturizer and the translucent powder.

Not bad for the price; depends on what you what your result to be
I considered all of the reviews before purchasing this powder because the powder I was using from BareMinerals was finished and I was looking for something else without paying $25. This powder is like no other powder I have ever used, and I do traditionally use a translucent powder for a finishing powder because I don't want to add color to my foundation because that look is just too plastic for me. This powder is definitely "translucent", but not as I expected, hence the 3 stars. I agree with others who have said you definitely need a fluffy brush - I would say it is an absolute must (I have a great one made by "Flower", which I think is a line by Drew Barrymore, actually). I can see if you try to use the little powder puff that comes with the e.l.f. powder, you will end up with a white face because you don't need much of this powder at all. I was also VERY glad I save my container from my previous powder given this powder is one of the finest powders I have ever seen, and tilting it to the side can release a tremendous amount of product and cause a ton of it to go into the air or all over your side table or sink. Oddly enough, I feel like this powder makes my face a little oily and does nothing to absorb any oil, but perhaps that isn't its job - after all, it is extremely fine. However, I can't say I have ever seen this with other finishing powders that aren't meant to absorb oil either. Again, I guess that's just my skin and I don't recall reading this from other reviewers. Sigh. At first I was frustrated with this powder and wasn't even sure what it's purpose was supposed to be, so I purchased Almay Smart Shade Finishing Powder, albeit for a different purpose (to attempt to make my self-tanner less sticky a half hour after application!). I tried the Almay on my face and it was beautiful, so I think I will be purchasing Almay the next time, even though I haven't checked to see if they have a translucent one. (I paid $14 in Walmart for the Almay, and it's $8-$10 here.) I also feel like the e.l.f powder settles into the fine lines under my eyes, and nobody likes that! (I didn't see that the Almay did this and actually had some skin perfecting ability (shocking!), and this was the first time I have ever bought an Almay finishing powder.) I mention all of this because the great Amazon family always provides me with so much information that if something didn't work out like anticipated, many reviewers provide ideas and products that did and why. I have learned a lot this way - just by reading reviews. Overall, I suppose this powder does provide a little bit of illumination to the face, but there are other products that are truly meant for that, like the e.l.f. baked pearls, which I also read about on Amazon, saw it in Target and fell in love with the product. I suppose for the price, perhaps the product isn't that bad, but maybe it all depends on what you are looking for, and what you want your end result to look like. I hope this review helps someone!
