I’m trying to figure out where to begin because I don’t want to sound like just another positive review and I want people to really believe what I’m writing. I am married with young kids in my late 30‘s with a career in law and like everyone else who uses opioids, I thought I could get away with 5 months of OxyContin use. All of the partying starts somewhere right and no one intends to get addicted. I really want people who are struggling or know someone struggling to believe in the power of Mucuna Puriens. I’ve never tried the velvet bean before so no experience with other brands but this stuff is ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE. The first day off was horrible and I had the usual “dope sick” symptoms (bad muscle aches and pain specifically in legs, RLS, irritability, anxiety, diarrhea, blurred vision, etc). Then I remembered I bought this stuff and the game totally changed. I took two of these capsules accompanied with a gabapentin for the leg pain and the relief hit me within a half hour. The anxiety has been totally lifted, my mind feels more clear, and I just feel all around less dope sick and way more capable of doing life. I can’t believe they don’t use this stuff in recovery centers. PLEASE TRY THIS STUFF it can save your life or your loved ones life. Note: I’ve also been using vitamins and supplements in high amounts such as magnesium, zinc, Ashwaganda, turmeric and curcumin, D3, K2, all the B vitamins, L-theanine, fish oil supplement, and a few others. This is NOT paid and I’m a “normal” individual who made a boo-boo in 2022. Freedom is attainable you guys please believe in the power of mucuna puriens specifically this brand because it sure worked for me. Peace and love! Make 2023 count!

Genuinely Surprised by the Results I ordered this mucuna supplement and tried it for the first time on an empty stomach. Within about 20 minutes I noticed small changes, and by the 30-minute mark the mental clarity was very noticeable. It wasn’t intense or jittery — just a smooth, steady sense of focus. I’ve been on Adderall for a little over a year and was searching for something more natural to support my focus. I’m not recommending this as a replacement for anyone’s prescription or saying it will work the same for everyone with ADHD this is just my personal experience. But after using it twice so far, I haven’t needed to take my Adderall. What really impressed me was how it helped me get things done that would normally feel paralyzing without Adderall. Tasks I usually overthink or avoid actually felt manageable. I was able to start and finish what I needed to without that mental resistance. I’m going to continue using it to see if the effects remain consistent, but as of right now I’m honestly amazed I didn’t know about this product sooner.

Use this supplement with CAUTION. I'd give it 5 stars for potency/quality, but maybe 3 stars for general use as it is too strong for me. Mucuna Pruriens contains natural L-Dopa, and these capsules are standardized to 20% (thus 500 mg x 0.20 = 100 mg of L-Dopa). That is a therapeutic dose, the medication Sinemet contains 50-200 mg per tablet (depending on the dose). That medicine is used for Parkinson's Disease when people have low dopamine due to neuron impairment and/or death, so they can't make enough. L-Dopa is converted to Dopamine, then Epinephrine, and Norepinephrine. These compounds are called catecholamines, they can increase your heart rate, blood pressure, and alertness. Your body needs them, but you don't want excessive amounts. I tried just ONE capsule (500 mg) in the early morning, empty stomach. Within about 30-45 minutes I felt more awake, but then too stimulated and anxious. My head ached a bit and so did my stomach. I felt 'flying high' through much of the day, although I was more mentally alert, I didn't feel good, almost like a 'tired and wired' feeling. Later when doing some exercise in the evening, it seemed like my heart was beating harder and faster than usual, not a good feeling. It was also harder to wind down and sleep at night. I then waited a few days, and tried 1/2 of a capsule in the early morning (so 250 mg). I have to get up around 5 AM for work, so I am usually in a serious morning fog. I also felt increased alertness, but a bit of brain tingling and some stomach discomfort. I also felt increased heart rate and some pounding? Not good. I can drink a Monster Zero can, it helps improve energy and alertness but doesn't make me anxious or overstimulated. This Mucuna is in a huge bottle, and it must be good potency to elicit this effect. I want alertness in my days, but not anxiety and panic. I also have a history of eye surgery, and L-dopa / mucuna has the potential to increase intraocular pressure (IOP - the pressure inside your eyes), so is not recommended. When you are sleep deprived, stressed out, etc. your dopamine levels can be depleted. Also if you have had addiction problems and took drugs that boost your dopamine, but now are off them, your levels may have tanked and you could crave the drugs again. The supplement L-tyrosine (used by your body to make L-dopa) has also shown promise for addiction medicine, increasing alertness, and helping with low-dopamine states. I have tried that supplement a number of times, it can help but don't take too much or you'll be amped up. I am a healthcare practitioner by trade, and have studied about many medications. This supplement is no joke, I would recommend CAUTION and perhaps only 1/2 capsule, and not even daily. Keep a small notebook and jot down how you feel. This Mucuna supplement is too strong for me for daily use. I am testing it at 1/2 cap every 2-3 days, since it does give me a clearer mind, more energy, and a happier mood.

I've ordered a lot of supplements over the years. 95 percent of the time it's a disappointment. But, not this time. This stuff actually works. I've only taken it for a few days and I'm brimming with energy and I'm more focused. It's literally taken me out of a constant funk. I literally never heard of the stuff before, I was searching for a dopamine agonist and came across this, after reading some enthusiastic reviews from some knowledgeable people, mainly the lady lawyer with a closet full of supplements. Thank you for that review or I likely wouldn't be writing this. I was worried about anxiety but I have none. No gastro problems or side effects just a lot more clarity and energy than I had jist a week ago.

I’m an avid review reader before I purchase anything, although I rarely write reviews myself. I thought I would add my two cents on this product. I’m the type that has cabinets and closets full of supplements. We try all sorts of things around my house and avoid prescriptions unless there is absolutely no other alternative. I bought these for my husband to hopefully increase his dopamine. We did urine neurotransmitter testing, which Arguably, may not be the most effective and reliable testing as to how neurotransmitters are actually functioning within the brain. It is more useful to determine neurotransmitter metabolites that are excreted in the urine which can be helpful to see how the body is metabolizing them. However, after an initial test with dopamine at 84 and then a follow up test with a result of 240, (with one pill capsule per day), I’d say it works. There was a correlating increase in excreted dopamine metabolites as well (HVA and DOPAC). Bear in mind that it is important to add in serotonin support anytime you are supplementing to increase dopamine. It’s a delicate balance. Whenever you supplement one, the other will invariably go down. My husbands stack is one Mucuna capsule, one 400 mg green tea extract capsule which helps extend the mucuna effect and 50 mg time release 5HTP. His recent test results showed serotonin and dopamine both within the ideal range, when prior testing showed them to be significantly out of balance. He feels better, thinks more clearly and is better overall with a combination of these products. If this product does not work for you, dopamine likely is not your issue and you may need serotonin, GABA or some other neurotransmitter support. When in doubt, test. ZRT Labs has a urine test that can be ordered online without having to go through a physician.

I bought this product after reading many reviews online and articles about how it would improve your mood and your energy levels. As a middle chick, improving fatigue and energy is a priority for me. The first two days I took it I thought maybe I noticed a difference. Then other days I don't notice a difference. Then some days it does. It has been less than a month so maybe I need to take it longer? I noticed it has a lot of good points for energy in my research and that is why I got it. I do think it is worth trying if you are a woman dealing with mid life chick stuff and want to improve energy and lessen fatigue. But keep an eye on whether or not it works or if it's just psychological the first few days. It is a very good value and a large bottle for the price. It also has a very high amount of the l-dopa compared to others. It says on the back of the bottle it a standardized to 20% l-dopa.

For me, (220 lbs) this is a good dose. I have bought bulk and taken more quantity with good immediate and more powerful results, as far as mood and also libido. But I have found anytime I take something that boosts my dopamine too much, it's good for a day or two but then brings on depression. some people are this way. This includes anti-depressants, opiod pain relievers (tramadol) and such. I can't take them. better for me to stay even than have a big boost and then fall. The depression comes even taking the same dose daily. However, this particular product works for me. Not too much, just a gentle boost and no depression. I saw one review and the woman couldn't take even one of these without jitters. Well, you have to experiment and find what works for you.

I tried mucuna pruriens extract std to 20% l-dopa from another company LM (not actual name). I remember that 2 cap falls was one dose and it could be taken twice a day. Well, I took just one cap and had the best day and mood! Lots of energy, too. I felt great! This lasted for a while until I needed 2 cap fulls and soon needed it twice a day. I did read to balance dopamine with serotonin or it could get burned out. So I got some serotonin products like tryptophan and 5-HTP to take with mucuna. I did a search on Amazon after I had been out a few days, and i found this product which says 20% l-dopa, so I bought it bc i trust Double Wood Supplements. However, my bottle does not mention anything about being standardized to 20% l-dopa or how much l-dopa is even in it. It's only on this product page apparently. So anyway, I did take one dose, 2 capsules. I felt nothing. I had taken a break from mucuna extract, so I had hoped to have a mood lift or something similar. I felt absolutely nothing today. I've tried taking it with l-tyrosine and 5-HTP as before and felt nothing. I'm a bit disappointed here. Idk what to think, but that's my honest review. I did feel very depressed when I took it, and when I stopped taking it, the depression stopped. So I guess I did feel something: depression and anhedonia, the opposite of what I experienced with my first brand. So I'm changing this to a 1 star rating bc something is wrong here!!
