Amul 99% cacao Chocolate 125g pack of 2

Will buy again and again. Very happy with the purchase.

Yeah I saw the 99% cocoa written in big bold letters, read the reviews saying that it's bitter, but STILL bought it because I was stupid enough to think that I can tolerate it. Well, I just couldn't. It was like intentionally torturing yourself. I thought if I kept it in the mouth long enough, the cocoa butter would melt, and make things better. But it was bitter through and through and through! Well, I didn't just want to throw away the whole thing, so I thought of an idea. Heated up some water in a small vessel and added this chocolate in it piece by piece. Then I added around 3 tbsp of coconut sugar to it and mixed it all together. That's only around 37 to 40 g of sugar for the whole thing, which I'll be consuming over several days. Plus coconut sugar has low glycemic index anyway. Well, it turned out better than I expected. It honestly tasted pretty good. Still was a little bitter but this is dark chocolate after all. I think I'm going to make this a regular thing! I know I could just buy 70% dark chocolate which has sugar added, but there was around 60g refined sugar with 190g chocolate making a total of 250g. Here it's 250g chocolate + 40g sugar and we can control what kind of sugar we add.

Pure chocolate indulgence. Unless I don’t know a brand that already sells 99% cacao indigenous chocolate, Amul is probably the first Indian company to make this. This chocolate is not for those who equate chocolate with sweetness. Pure cacao is bitter and probably among the most bitter things you would find. As the ingredient list shows this pack has cacao solids and two naturally available emulsifiers. In other words, pure chocolate. No added sugar and no milk. Probably among the best chocolates Amul has ever made. The packaging of the chocolate was so appropriate. They did their best to see that the chocolate bars would survive a 2-3 day shipping journey. Loved it. Thank you Amul!

Awful. I like cacao. And this is not bad. A bit rough and ready, but works with my coffee. My problem is that the slabs were completely melted and reformed. So no squares. Just a blotchy looking slab. Very ugh to look at. Evidently, the method of storage wasn't adequate.

I write this as a long time user of this chocolate; It has unfortunately changed as of atleast the october 2024 batch, as other recent reviewers have also noted. I'm not sure what exactly, although my guess is that the ratio of fat has increased relative to cocoa content, producing a richer but significantly less intense flavour. As a result, these may be my last two bars. While I appreciate the value these once provided, I feel like an increase in price would have been a better alternative to, effectively diluting the 'Ultimate' dark chocolate.

Amul 99% cacao is the best dark/bitter chocolate available in India... excellent innovation by Amul. I may tell that I am not endorsing Amul or any other brand...just my own opinions. It has been proven that cacao is one of the healthiest superfoods on earth with amazing health benefits. It's full of antioxidants & flavonoids which increase lifespan. It's one of the highest sources of nitric oxide which dilates/widens & relaxes blood vessels of the body by reducing blockages, thereby supporting heart & brain health. Cacao is also anti inflammatory and anti carcinogenic, thus reduces cancer risk. Moreover, cacao is a natural blood thinner, so can prevent blood clots, reduce blood cholesterol & blood sugar and lower blood pressure. Overall Amul dark cacao chocolate has enormous health benefits...so we must be thankful to Amul for making such an awesome health food. Please ignore the negative and one star rated reviews as those people are ignorant and lack awareness. Requesting all the sugar lovers...please don't defame such a nice and healthy product by giving negative ratings and one star. I pity those innocent sweet toothed people which focus on tongue taste rather than general health. Again, I am not promoting Amul company or a representative of the same, these are my personal views & experience. Those who want to enhance quality of life and reduce onset of lifestyle/genetic diseases like cancer, diabetes, hypertension, stroke, heart attacks, cardiac arrest, etc must not think twice...just purchase the stuff & enjoy. Infact, Amul 99% Cacao Chocolate is a heavenly bliss with irresistible taste. It is indeed Delightful & Ambrosial. I am giving a five star rating to this authentic product...if there were 10 stars, I would have given full 10/10. Lastly, thanks to Amul & Amazon, too for providing such a nice superfood at my doorstep.

I had purchased this 6 times over a period of time, i am a bit disappointed in regards to the availability of this chocolate. This isnt available in most of the shops its hard to come by hence i had to buy these from online. Amul needs to work on their distribution as i can see that most of the good products they produce aren't available. For eg i absolutely love the amul super fruit chocolate then this dark chocolate. But its rather unfortunate its unavailable in most of the shops. In regards to the chocolate, it comes as advertised. Dark, bitter, no sugar, low cost and yes if dark chocolates are your thing then you will find it tasty. Ingredients have only 2 items cocoa solids and emulsifiers. However, it doesn't seem to have any cocoa butter in it. Most high quality chocolates will have it. So there is a slight disappointment on that end.
