Thank God
This Product Is Ruining My Career. I am acne. For years I maintained a successful and thriving operation on this human's skin. Business was booming. We had branch offices on: Face โ Back โ Shoulders โ Anywhere important before special events โ Then this wash showed up. At first I wasn't concerned. Humans buy skincare products all the time. Most get used twice, forgotten under a sink, and never heard from again. Not this one. This human followed the directions. Consistently. Every day. Who does that? Within weeks our organization suffered unprecedented losses. Senior pimples were eliminated. Blackhead leadership was removed. Several promising recruits never even reached the surface. Morale collapsed. Pros โ Extremely effective โ Easy to use โ Reduces acne Cons โ Catastrophic for acne โ Creates hostile work environment โ Destroys generations of carefully established blemishes I attempted a counteroffensive before an important event. The wash responded with overwhelming force. The resulting engagement lasted approximately one minute. We lost everything. At our last board meeting, the remaining acne held a vote. Results: Stay and fight: 2 votes Retreat: 17 votes Hide under the jawline: 43 votes The retreat vote carried unanimously after a recount. Final Verdict If you are a human seeking clearer skin, I regret to inform you that this product performs exceptionally well. If you are acne, avoid at all costs. โญโโโโ Our thriving colony has been reduced to a few isolated holdouts hiding behind the left ear. Send help. ๐ซง๐คฃ

Better than Panoxyl, Neutrogena, Clean & Clear, Oxy, and more! Quality Benzoyl Peroxide to help with Adult Acne!
Pros: - Unscented - High quality and effective 10% benzoyl peroxide - Good consistency for easy application to the face - Easy to wash off - Large bottle with easy to use "duckbill" dispenser Cons: - Slightly harsh and can dry your skin Personal Experience: I am a male in my early 30's and have had issues with facial acne since my teenage years. I always expected it to just go away as I got older, but that never did quite happen. I learned to manage it over the years by trying to get good sleep, maintain stress, eat healthy, and to regularly wash my face. Over the years, I have literally tried over a hundred different products (face masks, creams, oils, retinol, glycolic acid, glycerin face washes, clay, tea tree oil, aloe, salicyclic acid, spot treatments, etc) from every imaginable brand in every price range. For years, nothing worked consistently until I came across AcneFree's benzoyl peroxide "Leave on Foam" that came in an aerosol can. It literally changed my life and was the single product that worked. Unfortunately, the product has since been discontinued and I was on the hunt again. My dermatologist simply stated that all benzoyl peroxides are the same, and the form of delivery is the only thing that really changes (whether it's a foam, spray, cream, spot treatment, or wash), but I came to suspect that this was only partly true. Your face can respond differently to the delivery system used, and companies can use varying qualities of benzoyl peroxide in their products. For me, benzoyl peroxide seemed to be the most effective active ingredient for my acne, so I proceeded to try product after product all over again that contained varying percentages of benzoyl peroxide (from 2.5% to 10%) in different delivery forms. To be honest, I still have yet to find something as good as the AcneFree "Leave on Foam", but I was pleased to finally find the Humane Benzoyl Peroxide 10% wash. As of now, this face wash is 1 of three benzoyl peroxide washes that I have found to be effective for me. The other 2 being Panoxyl and Topix Benzoyl Peroxide. Panoxyl dries out my skin too much, so I have stopped using it. I am not sure if I like this better than Topix (also an excellent choice), so I will continue to see over time. The Humane Benzoyl Peroxide is unscented (actually has a faint benzoyl peroxide smell, but it is not unpleasant), is easy to apply and wash off your face, and most importantly, it has worked to keep my skin clear. I haven't had a single pimple while using this. My only complaint is that the Humane Benzoyl Peroxide wash dries out my face (not as much as Panoxyl, but more than Topix). I recommend using a quality facial lotion shortly after washing your face with Humane. Conclusion: After trying nearly (if not over) 100 products for acne, the Humane Benzoyl Peroxide 10% face wash is one of the best and most effective. It uses high quality benzoyl peroxide, is easy to apply and wash off, comes in a large size, and it works! ** Helpful Tip: Some reviewers have mentioned that Benzoyl Peroxide can bleach your clothes, towels, and pillow cases. This is absolutely true. I recommend NOT using this in the shower because any left on your face will bleach your shower towels. Instead, I wash my face once in the morning and right before bed and use a white face towel to dry my face (a 30-pack is quite affordable at Costco). In terms of clothes, just don't touch your clothes until your hands are completely dry, and don't let the collar of your shirts touch what you wash off of your face. As for your pillow cases, as long as you dry your face well with the white face towel, you shouldn't have any major issues.

Strong acne wash that works, but can be a bit drying
This is definitely a strong acne wash and you can tell itโs formulated to be effective. The 10% benzoyl peroxide is powerful and it does seem to help reduce breakouts, especially on the back and shoulders. That said, because itโs a high strength formula it can be a little drying if you use it too often. I found it works best when I use it a few times a week rather than every day. The cleanser itself is easy to apply and rinses off well. Overall itโs a solid option if you need a stronger treatment for body acne.

MY holy grail.
This stuff WORKS! I used to get cystic breakouts like under the skin, but when I started using this daily I have seen a noticeable decrease. I haven't had a breakout in I don't know how long. It does make my face feel dry after using but nothing a little moisturizer can't fix. I didn't like that it doesn't get soapy so I question if its on my face sometimes but the results have spoken for me. It's also gentle on the face, there are no beads or anything that you are rubbing or exfoliating with. It feels a little on the pricey side but I will take it to have had no breakouts since using it. I will say though when I FIRST started using it I broke out a little maybe for about a week and then my skin cleared up.

Good stuff
Im 38 and had bacne since a teen ,this stuff works. I apply in the shower after a body wash and leave it on my back for about 3 min. Back has been cleared up of breakouts at least by 95% in the past few months. Now im not uncomfortable when my wife rubs my back.

This product is not for me but I still recommend it just to try.
I used Proactiv for over 7 years. It was pretty costly but it worked and gave me confidence. I stopped using them mid last year 2017 when they canceled my membership without any warning, even after calling them to discuss a possible issue but after being reassured by one of their representatives that their wasn't one, I let it go thinking that there wasn't. After 7 years of being a loyal member to them, it just wasn't a good feeling. After Googling what I need to be acnefree in terms of product, I realized all I really needed was a really good facial wash product and a waterbased moisturizer. I started with a Neutrogena facial wash, and while it worked fine for the first 5 days, I think it was just Proactiv wearing off, as after those five days I would get these white small acne throughout my face but especially around the mouth. It wasn't working out that well despite the decent reviews. I decided to go back and look again. I found this product and another product that was pill based. Both have a ton of reviews and the average rating left both at 5-stars. I'm not a huge fan of taking pills. I've found I normally feel sick afterwards and I don't like putting things into my body unless it's real food. I just better. So I chose this one and I am super glad I did. It is perfect. The first step of Proactiv and the third step both have Benzoyl Peroxide for a combined total of 5%. My skin was already adjusted to Benzoyl Peroxide and this product has 5% more. My skin gets tight but it doesn't get red. I use Neutrogena's waterbased moisturizer and it works flawlessly with this product. A lot of the time you may get white residue after and/or skin peeling and need to use a wet towel to go over them to get rid of it but with that moisturizer I don't need to. It goes on really smoothly. I don't have acne anymore. I'm saving a ton of money and just as importantly, if not moreso, I'm saving A LOT more time. Proactiv was a three step process twice a day, and including the Green Tea Moisturizer that I would get with it (if you can afford to, it's the best moisturizer I have ever used, and lasts 2-3 months), would make it a 4-step process. It was extremely time consuming and frustrating. Now with this facial wash and my moisturizer, it's a 2-step process in the morning and a 1-step process before bed. With this Human Benzoyl's product, I use it twice a day. Once in the morning after breakfast and I apply moisturizer after and a second time before bed without moisturizer. If I planned on going out or even just eating again, I would apply moisturizer. I've found that if you don't apply moisturizer and you're going to be making a lot of facial expressions (smiling, talking, eating, laughing) you're significantly more likely to have a breakout the following day, or that same day if you do that in the morning. On it's own, this is a perfect product. With a moisturizer that works for you, it becomes the perfect acne treatment around. UPDATE. I don't know what happened. It's now a 3-star product for me. Maybe the Proactiv I was using for 7 years was just "wearing off" or something but now I get a decent amount of acne, especially around the bottom parts of my mouth and chin and neckline, with some on the lower ends of my cheeks. But now it's not just acne, they're whiteheads. I've never had an issue with whiteheads before until now. And because they're whiteheads you want to pop them, even though you probably really shouldn't, but if you don't, you have a face of whiteheads (I have 4 really decent size ones right now) and it's pretty embarrassing when you're at work or school or with friends/family, or just grabbing something to eat. I am using their toner also to see if it helps, and I believe it does but not enough to make me stick with this brand. I'm going to what I used to use (sadly). It's costly but it works. I will say this though that this product is at least worth a try if you're looking for acne treatment, or a new one.

Extremely Satisified after decades of Acne
As I've only taken the time to write a few reviews in my decade as an Amazon prime user, this product is certainly deserving. Real quick background - I'm in my 30s, I still have minor acne, with some moderate breakouts occasionally thoughout a month. I've been a user of proactive, which did an OK job, but I wanted to see if there was something better. I just bought a "philosophy" kit (4 products, I wanted cleanser, moisturizer, etc, all in one place). The "philosophy" product led to THE WORST, most embarrassing breakout I'd ever had in my life. I didn't even want to leave the house. After that, proactive was taking too long to revert back to my norm. I had to try something else. I switched to Humane. Honestly, within days, my face was reverting to normal. After a week, my face was clearing up better than my light acne days. Now, only about 2-3 weeks in, my face is feeling the cleanest it ever has, with my face only at extremely light acne and noticing this diminishing even further. I use this twice daily - once in morning and once in the evening. I want to remain extremely consistent as I see results improving almost daily. So far I'm extremely satisfied and I'll add to this review a month or two down the road. I make sure to follow up each time with a moisturizer. There is no dry/dead skin on my face, as I've been using various skin products for 15+ years. I can feel that it seems slightly dry after using, however, so I make sure to use a moisturizer (as a semi inexpensive product on amazon, I use Olay Regenerist, which feels slightly oily... But good price, has 15 spf. I'm a bigger fan of the Clinque moisturizer, but that can be more expensive). Anyways, things are going well. I feel more confident already as I don't need to clean my face mid way through the day or check if something is breaking out. I hope this continues to improve. After trying SO MANY products, this is working extremely well. I know it's early, but I highly recommend you try it.

Great, but expensive
Although I've only had the opportunity to use the benzoyl peroxide wash for a couple weeks, I definitely see a significant difference in how clear my face is with occasional use. As some other reviewers have noted, the face wash has a peculiar (but not offensive) smell when applied. I'm almost certain that this peculiarity is a characteristic of the active ingredient (being in such a high concentration), and not of other ingredients in the company's formulation. While I have sensitive skin, I haven't noticed any dryness or irritation that resulted from use. After washing the product away, my face felt clean and supple, like I had used any other OTC face wash. And while I don't usually mention this, I feel compelled to say that the company has great branding and customer support. The design for their bottle is simple, modern and attractive. After purchase, Humane Consumer contacts you by email inquiring as to your satisfaction with their product, and sends a second follow-up email several weeks later to the same end. You get the impression that they genuinely want to hear your feedback, and are ready, willing and able to see any concern you have to its timely resolution. While I can't attest to the amenability of their problem-solving in practice, I'm confident that it would be quick and painless. The only negative I would offer is the price: $22.00 is no joke for 8 fl. oz. of product. I understand that the company is a small business, which doesn't benefit from the same reductions to manufacturing costs permitted by bulk purchasing as larger companies. That being said, I also understand that the company was incorporated by a national umbrella corporation almost six years ago to the day. Therefore, I would expect that the attainability of assets/capital that comes with being managed by a successful umbrella corporation to start manifesting as decreased production costs, and decreased prices for consumers, sometime soon. It's because of this issue that I removed a star. Compared to its primary name-brand competitor (PanOxyl), Humane Consumer's offering is ~30% more expensive, and compared to a generic alternative (CVS Brand), Humane Consumer's offering is ~50% more expensive. I'm not sure why Humane Consumer has fared so well in light of the stark competition it faces, honestly. The market niche it fills has been occupied by PanOxyl, a subsidiary of a very large corporation, since at least as early as 2005. While one could argue Humane Consumer's products are distinct because of their ethics, safety rating and exclusion of fragrances/parabens, how much does that actually impact production costs so late in the company's existence? Once you've already developed a simple, safe product in an ethical way, don't the increased costs associated with that unique development process become inconsequential as you continue to manufacture the product? I know the tendency is for people to spend more money for otherwise equivalent products that are developed responsibly, but I don't find that it makes sense here. On the whole, I think Humane Consumer has a bang-up product with bang-up support selling for a buck too much.

Great item bad packaging
Great quality wash. But the soap dries inside the nozzle and it's difficult to get out sometimes. Need to change the packaging but overall it's worth it.
