The Seven Story Tree: A Book of Poetry

I have had the privilege of not only reading this awesome book, but getting to know the author on a more personal level. She has a heart of gold and a deep wisdom that expresses itself in humor, sadness, and reflection. Susan has been through the fire and the only thing that has been burned are the relationships and the paths she has had to painfully say goodbye to in order to fulfill her passion.

I write poetry, so this book of poetry captivated me because in almost every poem I found myself and relived some things that I’d thought I had forgotten. My two favorites are “the storm” and the one right after it “sometimes I fall”. I highly recommend this book of poetry. It gives highlight an insight to a woman’s heart and soul. And it’s also about a journey away from God and how to find your way back to Him. Excellent!!

I can really relate to some of the content in these poems. The author doesn't seem to hold anything back, and has a unique way of expressing her feelings. Some of the issues that she talks about are things that I have struggled with, and reading her take on them was both refreshing and challenging. It is a lot to digest in one reading, I think I'll be going back to some of the poems over and over.

LOVE this book! The depth and warmth and wisdom and encouragement that shines through these poems is at times breathtaking! Life takes all kinds of twists and turns. The author captures so much of the emotion that we all experience with this ride and offers encouragement and grounding when our tendency can be to react negatively to life.

This book is so good. Youi will experience all of your emotions when reading this book. Her creative way of writing is wonderful. Keeps your interest from the beginning to the end.
