Pogi's Dog Poop Bags, Fresh Scent, Large, 30 Refill Rolls, 450 Bags

I used Earth Rated bags for years, but when I saw Pogi's had larger quantities available with slightly lower prices I decided to give them a try. I've actually used them for a good 6+ months now, but since I feel like winter is a true test of a bag I was waiting for some cold weather to be sure how I felt about Pogi's compared to Earth Rated. After all these months, I have to say they are both great bags. And honestly, you probably will be happy with either brand if you are looking for a decent, scented, biodegradable poo-bag. That said, there are some differences I would like to point out for other shoppers. PRICE: Pogi's are cheaper than Earth Rated, in general, by just a hair. Of course Amazon prices can vary like a seesaw, but Pogi's always seem to come out on top in the best buy race. Right now Pogi's has 450 bags up for 16.99, which has been a somewhat consistent price I've noticed over the last month's I've been buying them. That's about 0.037 cents a bag. Check the following link to be sure, but right now Earth Rated has 270 bags up for 11.99, which has also been a pretty consistent Amazon price at 0.044 cents a bag. Earth Rated 270-Count Lavender-Scented Dog Waste Bags, 18 Refill Rolls QUANTITY: I guess the thing I like about Pogi's is the bigger available bag count. I don't have to order as often with the 450 bags, and it is a boon that it is a tiny skosh cheaper at the same time. BAG "FEEL": Pogi's is a thinner, more crinkly plastic than Earth Rated. It feels lower quality, which initially turned me off to it a bit, but over time I found that there were no issues with leaks or anything due to the thinner bag, but that there was an actual benefit to the bags being thinner and less smooth-- they aren't as clingy as Earth Rated bags. Pogi's bags much more easily part in order to be opened and this, rather ironically, seems to be because the plastic is not as thick, smooth and "high-quality" as ER bags. Considering the bags haven't split on me any more than ER bags, I think Pogi's comes out on top with this one, as being able to easily open a poo-bag is super duper important to me. ESPECIALLY IN WINTER! Yes, Pogi's are easier to open with gloves on, and even easier if you are in leather gloves rather than silky-slicker fiber gloves, but in either case I find Pogi's > ER bags when it comes to ease of opening, with or without gloves. SCENT: This is the one case I think ER is the winner. ER bags have a stronger fragrance and I prefer their Lavender scent to Pogi's Powder scent in part due to strength because if I get scented bags-- I want that strong scent to cover the OTHER scent, you know? The other part is I plain prefer that lovely medicinal lavender fragrance. That said, you may prefer Pogi's because it is less-odoriferous! I know some people find the scented bags over-powering. Something you may want to keep in mind if you do, or don't, like strong smells. Those darned STICKERS!: I've had one box of Pogi's and one box of ER bags come that had stupidly over-adhering stickers sealing each roll-- so annoying! ER bag's had nice CS that I spoke with about it and they explained they were testing different types of adhesives. I never got another "bad" box of ER bags after that point. Conversely, I haven't spoken to Pogi's yet, but I *just* got a box of bags that have a round sticker instead of the old rectangular sticker and this box's stickers SUCK! Basically, if you aren't careful with a "bad" box of bags you will always tear the first bag of each roll, which isn't a huge loss, but it's annoying! I suggest if you get dumbly, annoying, over-adhering stickers on your box of bags that you do this: Look at the roll and see which way the bag opening is facing. In order to have any tearing or stretching happen only to the top of the bag - rather than the mid section of the bag which renders it wasted - then pick at the sticker on the bottom side rather than across the top, where it is also touching over a lower part of the bag wrapped around the roll. If it tears a bit, or stretches, it will only do so at the top of your bag and it should still be usable. If your tear the other way it's possible you will rip a hole that can run like a stocking and wreck that first bag completely. OVERALL: Again, I think these are both good products. Both have scented and unscented versions. Both are biodegradable. Both are pretty high quality with very, very few instances of bag tearing or manufacturer errors like incomplete bottom seals (I think I've had one bobo-sealed ER bag and one Pogi's bag out of thousands of each... pretty good odds even if those rare few times leave you a little sad and stinky until you can get home to wash your hands, but such is a pet-owners life, imo! :P That said, as much as I was a fan of ER bags for so long, I think Pogi's is my new favorite and that is primarily as they offer larger quantities in one sitting, at a tiny bit better price AND the way it's easier to open Pogi's. My go-to bag for a 25 pound dog. Bags are the right size for waste and are sturdy, rarely do I split a bag tearing off the next one. I also appreciate that the center core is cardboard, unlike many that use a plastic core. The scent is subtle but masks all but the stinkiest messes.

When I'm feeling too lazy to give my dogs a full-on walk, I just let them out in the backyard. Previously, I would just pick up their droppings using plastic bags from the grocery store, tie the sucker up, and toss it in the trash, but I've been on more of an eco-craze lately and so I figured I'd try out these earth-friendly poop bags. That and the grocery stores no longer give out plastic bags... After reading several reviews I came upon Pogi's 'Earth Friendly Poop Bags.' Perfect. Just what I was looking for. Upon reading the description of being earth-friendly, extra-large, powder-scented, and recyclable packaging, I decided to put these to the test. The Super Pantry Pack comes in a box made of recyclable cardboard. The box is also very sturdy and is shaped and functions like a box of tissues, with sheets coming out from the top of the box. The sheets do come in a roll and thus each bag needs to be separated from the roll, but it does so easily. After taking out the first sheet, I immediately tested it for claim number two: the powder scent. I dug my nose down into the poop receptacle and lifted my head up with a great, big smile. What a glorious scent! I took another deep inhale and nearly suffocated myself. I then looked at the bottom of the bag which had a disclaimer: "WARNING! Keep this bag away from children!" Duly noted. I then tested the bag for claim number three: extra large size. Well, I have two Maltese, and while that might make you think they leave cute little droppings, think again. These bags have more than enough space to fit even the heftiest of turds. I also don't pick up the backyard poop on a daily basis, so there's usually a good amount of work to be done when I do eventually go out there. Not only are these bags large enough to fit all the goodies, but they also do not rip under all that weight. The only thing I couldn't test was its being earth-friendly, as I wasn't about to let the bag sit around for 18 months so that I can see if it dissolves. Overall, I am a very pleased with my purchase and I highly recommend this product for any eco-conscious dog-owner.

For years, I had been using generic gallon ziplock-type bags to dispose of scooped waste from my kitty litter boxes daily, and I decided I wanted to see if I could switch to something that was both biodegradable and more cost effective. That's how I came across these Pogi's Poop Bags, and they totally fit the bill. I have no complaints. Generally, I like to avoid scented products, but I'm happy to have the scent in this case, especially since the filled poop bags sit in my kitchen garbage for a few days at a time, and despite having a very sensitive sense of smell, I haven't noticed any foul odors, where as I noticed them frequently when previously using the ziplock-type bags. The bags are easy to detach from one another at the perforations, and they are easy to open, especially when rubbing them between slightly damp fingers at the indicated mark. Since they're quite thin, they require me to support them more when transferring the waste from the litter box, and because of being accustomed to the thicker ziplock-type bags and my carelessness, I've had one mishap of dumping the waste onto the floor as the edge of the bag collapsed under the weight, but it was a learning experience that I know better than to repeat. The bags tie off easily after filling them, especially if you give them a quick spin. I clean two litter boxes for three cats daily, and these bags easily accomodate that amount of waste. This batch should last me nearly two years, so they really score points for cost savings when compared to my old method. And finally, I'm happy knowing that they're eco-friendly. I will recommend these to my like-minded friends, and I'll hopefully be able to order this same product when I run out some time from now.

You normally don’t put that much thought into poop bags UNTIL you experience one unfortunate mishap. I place my first order of these back in 2018 and have yet to find a better bag. These are thick enough for me to feel confident there won’t be any rips while cleaning up after my pups, and the faint scent is enough to mask any stench without being overwhelming.

These bags are the next best thing to Mutt Mitts. Like Mutt Mitts, they biodegrade, so buyers who get bags that rip as they're pulled from the box are getting old bags. They're large, easy to knot, and sturdy enough to grab poop and soil beneath it, if necessary, while keeping your hands clean. But as some others have said, they are an unbearable pain to open. They must be open before you stick them in a pocket or pup bag. If not, you'll find yourself scrabbling to get the two sides of the bag apart. I've wet my fingers. I've even licked the edge of an (empty) bag to give my fingers traction. I'm paying for Mutt Mitts next time. You should too. UPDATE: I gave these bags two more stars because I found a much easier way to open them and because they're easy to grab off the roll. To open, just work a very small piece exactly at a corner. They separate easily there and pull right open. I open a couple of them ahead of time, but I no longer have to. I use them every time my puppy poops in the backyard and will use them when she can go on walks.

I've been using these now for a few weeks and will probably continue to use them as long as I have a need. The apartment complex where I live used to provide biodegradable poop bags, but about two months ago they cheaped out and put in some horrible bags that are clear and so thin you felt like you were picking up poop with your bare hands. Bleaaaagh. I chose Pogi's because the cost was reasonable for 500 bags, and since I don't like to have to keep reordering that often, this was perfect for me. I don't find the scent to even remotely resemble powder, but scent is subjective and it is not noticeable in the house (I keep it on top of the refrigerator as I don't have a pantry)...and I've appreciated having the benefit of ANY scent on more than one occasion. The roll comes in a sturdy container as shown and you may need to open up the side to slide it out to remove the tape and to get the first bag to align with the top. Just close it up and pull it through. Make sure you pull the next bag up a bit as well so you're not having to reopen the box to gain access to the next one. Yep. Brain cells were not hitting on all cylinders that morning. The bags are strong, well made and have a nice sense of thickness to them and I like that they help obscure the contents since I can't always make it over to the dog disposal station immediately and it ends up somewhat hidden behind a pole on my patio until later that day (my patio is viewable by other tenants walking by). The reason for the half point off is that I think they could be a tad larger. I have large hands for a woman and though most of the time I don't have a problem with handling the bags, sometimes if Mollie's had a really 'good day,' it felt awkward trying to get the top tied off without actually having to push the contents down. I've learned that on those occasions if I invert the bag and gently bounce it a few times, everything will settle further down and I can get it wrapped around my fingers and tie it off. Still...an extra inch to the length would make these perfect. The width is fine. Final note: These are made in China, and though I usually make an effort to buy USA products when I can afford to, these are well made and affordable. Don't let that discourage you from purchasing them. And besides...have you seen Pogi?? What a cutie!!

I never have issues with these bags tearing like I did with the store brand. These are the perfect size, strong, reliable, and easy to separate from the roll. When you’re cleaning up multiple times a day, quality really matters, and these have consistently been the best I’ve used. Highly recommend for multi-dog households, rescues, or anyone who wants dependable bags without frustration.

These dog bags are great. They are strong and easy to open, and you can pick up almost any dog doings, without the worry of leakage or splitting, which is one less thing to worry about. I tried these dog bags last November when I got them on amazon resale, and I wouldn’t look back now. They also have a plesent baby fresh fragrance. They tear off the roll easily too and you can happily stuff some into a pocket or a hand bag etc to take with you and they’re nice and spacious too. Worth the extra cost. Just got a second lot. So good to grab and go with. Thank you for a great product.

Lo mejor es que no trae el huesito típico para llevar las bolsas, que acabas con un montón cada vez que compras una caja de bolsas. Resistentes y útiles.

Good quality bags. Waterproof and large enough for a decent sizes poop! Easy to year off from the box. Less fiddly than the little rolls.

La caja en la que vienen es de cartón duro, con lo que se reduce el consumo de plástico. En cuanto a las bolsas, tienen un buen tamaño, para perros pequeños y medianos es ideal, para perros grandes no lo sé. El material del que están hechas las bolsas es biodegradable y tiene un tacto muy resistente y, efectivamente, lo es. Las bolsas se dividen muy fácilmente unas de otras y no se rompen al hacerlo, como sucede con bolsitas de peor calidad. Además, te indica con un letrero "Open here" por dónde se abre la bolsa para que no tengas que estar dándole vueltas para averiguarlo con la prisas durante el paseo y, aunque no vayan perfumadas, una vez cerradas ya no huele el excremento. Yo las uso para rellenar el portarrollos que llevo con la cadena y va genial porque, al rellenarlo yo, no tengo que desechar tampoco el tubito plástico que suelen llevar los rollos pequeños que ya venden para el paseo. En cuanto se me acabe la caja, que tardará un montón, me compraré otra, sí o sí.
