Worth it for peace of mind; a leak can create a lot of damage fast!
After a colleague had a MAJOR leak that caused a lot of damage, I decided to get water leak sensors and picked the YoLink ones after a lot of reading/research. So far (about a month), I've been very happy with them. They were easy to set up and connect, and I tested each one by setting it in water to be sure it worked. All triggered a leak alert to my phone. We bought this starter kit as well as additional sensors to cover all anticipated leak locations at home. We connected the hub via ethernet to our router for stability and so far, all has worked well and has provided peace of mind for a reasonable cost. Initially, we had some trouble with losing the Internet connection, but then I discovered that it works best when plugged in using the actual plug - not just inserting the USB end into my power strip. Using the actual plug provides more stable power and since doing that, I have not had trouble with losing the Internet connection. When our Internet goes down (e.g. a storm or a need for a reboot), the YoLink router comes back smoothly most of the time. If it doesn't, unplug the hub from the router, reboot the router, then plug the modem & router back in, plugging the hub back in last.

Own a home? BUY THESE, YOUR FUTURE SELF WILL THANK YOU.
TLDR: If you own a home, you NEED these. Plain and simple. Buy them, set them up, forget about them, and they will save your ass WHEN something leaks. Because eventually, something WILL leak. As a first time home buyer, I got paranoid about the stuff I couldn't control. What happens when the sink, the dishwasher, the water heater, the fridge, or anything else decides to leak while I'm asleep or away from home? I did some research and found these YoLink leak detectors. They have saved my ass multiple times and have EASILY saved me 10's of thousands of dollars by telling me about a leak the second it started, instead of days later when I happened to walk by and notice it. Example: I had a sensor in the basement next to my water heater and sump pump. We got 6 inches of rain overnight and one of my sump pumps failed. At 2am this thing went off and woke me up (via 'priority notifications' on the iPhone, sends a loud alert even if your phone is on silent). I ran downstairs and found water already seeping into the basement in a couple of spots, and it was coming in FAST. I got the pump running again, rode out the storm, and replaced the pump once things calmed down. Without that sensor, I would have slept straight through it and woke up to ankle deep water and tens of thousands of dollars in remediation. Instead, I was out a new sump pump and a few hours of sleep. Setup is extremely simple. Order the hub with a few sensors, connect the hub to your wifi/ethernet, stick the sensors under anything that can leak, set up your notifications and alarms and you're done. From then on you sleep peacefully knowing that if something leaks, you WILL be notified and you can actually do something about it. No subscriptions or monthly fee BS. You buy them once and they just work. Seriously, order these things. What you spend today is nothing compared to what one missed leak costs you. I've got like 8+ leak sensors all around my home at this point.

Must-have protection: Caught a leak in the first week!
Iโve had a great experience with the YoLink Water Leak Starter Kit so far. It provides a level of peace of mind that is well worth the investment. I have sensors placed in several high-risk areas, including near my water heater. While that hasn't leaked yet (thankfully!), I also have a sensor tucked under my refrigerator. My fridge occasionally leaks water, and this system catches it and alerts me right away. The instant notifications are fantastic because they allow me to address the issue immediately. It has already helped me prevent larger cleanups and, more importantly, potentially serious water damage. Pros: Instant Alerts: The speed of the notifications is impressive. Easy Setup: The hub and sensors were straightforward to get up and running. Preventative: Truly helps stop a small drip from becoming a major headache. If you're looking for a reliable and responsive leak detection system, I highly recommend this starter kit!

Good product
I cannot recommend the YoLink Water Leak Starter Kit enough. After dealing with a minor basement leak last year that went unnoticed for two days, I knew I needed a reliable detection system. I did a lot of research before settling on YoLink, and honestly, this system blows the standard Wi-Fi sensors out of the water. Here is why this kit deserves a full 5 stars: LoRa Long-Range Technology is a Game Changer: This is the main selling point. Unlike standard smart home devices that struggle to stay connected in my basement or utility closet, the LoRa (Long Range) tech punches through walls and concrete with zero issues. I have one sensor in a detached garage about 100 feet from the house, and it has full signal strength. Ridiculously Easy Setup: I am not a super technical person, but I had the Hub and all 4 sensors up and running in under 15 minutes. You just scan the QR code in the app, and it connects instantly. No fiddling with complicated Wi-Fi passwords for each individual sensor. Silent but Deadly Accurate: Note that these are the "Silent" version of Sensor 1. They don't scream at you with an onboard siren, which I actually prefer because I have pets that would be terrified by a loud alarm. Instead, the Hub handles the audio (if you want it to), and the phone notifications are instantaneous. I tested one with a wet paper towel, and my phone buzzed within 2 seconds. The App is Fantastic: The YoLink app is clean, intuitive, and lets you set up all sorts of automation. You can even configure it to send emails or texts to family members if a leak is detected while you are on vacation. The Bottom Line: For the price of a single plumbing visit, you get a Hub and four reliable sensors. If you own a home, this isn't just a gadget; it is essential insurance. Do yourself a favor and buy this before you need it!

Lackluster QA, great value
I bought the kit that came with a hub and four leak detectors. I bought, additionally, the temperature & humidity sensor and two motion detectors. I bought these for a second house that is not always occupied. Setup was incredibly easy - I connected the hub to power and one of the network ports on my router, then immediately setup the wifi in the app and moved it upstairs away from the router. Connectivity over wifi works great. The Android app works well and all the settings are easy to find. One thing worth noting - it does NOT support the 5G wifi band (it warns you of this in the app), so if you have separate SSIDs for 2.4G and 5G make sure you use the 2.4G one. I then connected all my sensors by scanning the QR codes on them with the app. I recommend connecting all your sensors first before creating any "rooms" or automations as you can do it in bulk once you get your sensors scanned in. The only reason I deducted a star was poor QA. The water sensors all operate off two AAA batteries each, and in one of my sensors the batteries were flat dead. I tested them - not low voltage, flat out dead. They are garbage chinesium batteries so while I am not surprised, this should have been caught before the sensor was packaged and sent out. Replacing the batteries was easy enough - four tiny screws were hidden under the feet on the bottom and the device opens in two halves, and you can pop in new batteries once opened. Based on other reviews, these batteries tend to last years so you might not ever need to do this. When I had the unit apart I had the opportunity to take a look at the mechanisms. The main PCB was of high quality, and all the soldered components were stout. There is a very nice gasket/seal that runs around the perimeter of the sensor to keep water out - meaning that even if the sensor were completely submerged I suspect it would not be damaged beyond use once dried out. I have not used any of the automation features, but it looks like they sell an automated water valve you could use to shut off your water if a leak were detected, for example. It also integrates natively into Alexa, Google Assistant, and IFTTT. Again - I did not use any of these features but if you've messed with any of those before you know what to expect. If you don't know what any of that means, don't worry about it. Overall I am very pleased and I will be purchasing more sensors for this setup. The Android app is easy to use and the added peace of mind is great. I highly recommend the YoLink systems.

Caught Two Leaks Before They Became Problems
The YoLink starter kit was very easy to set up, and testing the sensors was simple. A couple of months after installing them, I had my first real experience with how useful they are. I was away from home when one of the sensors I placed underneath my refrigerator started sending me a water leak warning. I remembered that I had been filling a water bottle before leaving and probably dropped an ice cube. When I got home, I checked underneath the refrigerator and, sure enough, there was a small amount of water sitting right under the sensor. It was from the ice cube I had accidentally dropped. Another time, I received a warning from the sensor in my bathroom. When I checked, I found that the toilet valve was slowly dripping water. It was a very small amount, but the YoLink sensor detected it quickly and alerted me before it could become a bigger problem. After these two experiences, Iโm very impressed with the system and highly recommend it. I havenโt purchased the automatic shutoff valve yet, but I plan to add one in the future to have more complete protection against water leaks throughout my house.

Had a small undersink leak. This let me know within 15 seconds.
I love this brand. It's inexpensive but works perfectly. The app is super simple to use and these devices are easy to deploy. Support is OUTSTANDING. I have over 25 YoLink products. I had a problem with 1 and they replaced it free of charge answering the email within a day.

A perfect system to prevent water damage in your home.
This Yolink water leak sensor system is really, really, excellent. I installed the hub and four sensors about a week ago and I am impressed. I first noticed the info about its LoRa radio link between the sensors and the hub. As an engineer I wanted to understand more about that technology. First, could it reliably maintain the link for that kind of distance, and second, can it do so with such a small battery draw to make it sensible for battery only powered sensors. If you read about LoRa on Wikipedia, along with the Chirp transmission method, you can see why itโs exactly the right radio link for small battery powered sensors at a long distance. Itโs the same type of low speed data link that scientist use to track tagged animals in the wild. They need a small battery powered transmitter to chirp a few bits of data for as long as possible and over the longest possible distance. LoRa does that. And now the people at YoLink have used the same technology to build what appears to be the ideal system for homeowners to prevent a water leak from destroying property. One tech note here. When I first deployed the sensors in a guest house about 150 feet from the hub in my main house, I saw that the sensors were running with a radio link receive level of about -37dbm. That info is available from looking at the phone app. That is a very strong signal despite five or six walls and150 feet distance. However over about a day I noticed the radio link level dropped down to about -100 dbm. Even though one would think that is a low level, itโs actually still a good signal for a LoRa link. I think YoLink has done a very cool trick and have the sensors drop the transmitter level over a period of time in order to conserve battery life, at the same time still maintain a solid data link. That is why they are able to get years of life from a set of normal batteries in the sensor. Itโs the perfect way to operate the alarm system. Loved the wired Ethernet connection option also. I suggest you use it instead of Wifi for the hub. I was so impressed with the initial hub and sensors after a couple of days I decided to go forward with purchasing the siren and water valve cutoff unit. I now have those in place and tested multiple times. The whole system works perfectly. When I place a moist paper towel under one of the sensors it alarms within seconds, the siren goes off, the water valve closes, I receive a notification on my iPhone, and an email as well. All four sensors were tested that way and they all four worked flawlessly. The hardware seems really high quality. Fit and finish, the cables for the hub and siren, and the sensors look to have good sealing to maintain the batteries in a dry and solid housing. I understand changing the batteries will be simple with just removing a few screws and taking the sensor apart. That is way better that just a clip like battery cover design. I did notice that the water valve hardware is not stainless steel. That will not be a problem if your water valve is inside, but mine is mounted outside. I plan to build a small housing to fit over the water valve to keep it out of the weather, along with keeping the steel hardware greased to prevent corrosion. But for the price, I think its an amazing device and system to same you from the disaster of water damage. Now a word about support, After I received the siren and water valve and got them paired to the hub it was not exactly clear if they were ready to automatically do their thing when a sensor alarms. So I called the support line and right away Clair answered and within a few minutes explained the process of getting things properly set up for automatic siren and water valve operation. She took the time to capture and send me screen shots of the app and stepped me through the process. The key is clicking on the Smart button on the app, then the automation button, then + to add a rule for each sensor. Itโs quite easy if you just hit those buttons in the app. Setup took no more that a few minutes. Thanks Clair. I get the impression that YoLink has set the standard for a perfect water leak prevention system. The fact thatโs itโs low cost is just an added benefit. And another note. My work involves taking care of high powered water cooled television transmitters across the country. I am planning to install YoLink sensors in every location. The cost is so low I will just add it to my monthly expenses. Itโs not even a capital expense to do such an important upgrade to my remote sites. Just get the things, you will not regret it. Highly recommanded
I have a lot of Yolink items and they work perfectly. Great to monitor water leaks for my water heater, washing machine, water pressure tank and even inside my sump pit. I installed it inside (within an abs cap) right over where the pump is located. So, if it detects water, so I have still time to fix it before any damages.

Works good, incredible battery life
Bought this set a few year's ago. And still, every thing is working well. Pros - response time is great, drip water on sensor and I get a notification on my phone near instantly! Battery life is great, a couple years on and they are working great, I test them a few times a year to be sure. Hackable, I opened one up an soldered on some wires to extend the sense location, I put a little piece of sponge on the end of a twisted pair of wires, tinned for corrosion resistance, and I was able to position it at a level just above my sump pump water level, if my sump pump fails I should be notified if the level rises another inch or so. These sensors worked so well I branched out to other devices. I now have the garage door sensor and controller and the temp/humidity sensor. The hub even acts as a power sensor as when the power goes out the hub goes offline and I get a notification. Cons - the app is a little weird, but not bad. Just not super intuitive. But I have managed to get everything set up on my phone, and my wife's phone (Apple phones, I don't have android experience with the app.
