Pirates Activity Book Paperback – Bargain Price, August 2, 2010

This is a great book for early elementary kids. You can use it to make a fun Birthday Party, Sleepover activity. or just to play with. on a long afternoon I like it especially because it taps into the kid's imagination and maker- skills. The book shows how to make pirate hats and other props from stuff around the house, how to make maps, includes tattoos and a card game. As a teacher, I know cognitive skills and motor skills improve with pretend play. My grandsons loved "pirate summer" and extended the ideas from the book to include making a pirate flag and attaching it to their play structure, set up a pretend walk the plank, played beanbag toss with a homemade cardboard shark, fired black water balloons at imaginary alligators, etc

Every kid we read this book to loves it. The art's detail lets the child see the high level objects first and then continue to see more and more detail about the subject over time, so they don't tire in looking at the art as fast as other books. It reminds me of the Pecose Bill book by Ry Cooder which I never tired of as a child.Book quality seems good, pages are strong, binding has survived for months.

This book I bought for my own little pirate as a Christmas present a few years back. I have also used the activities in EFL/ESL classes to help students understand Halloween as well as a different way to approach grammar.The activities are great, and as long as you can copy out the pages, this will give you years of use.

my son loves this book he got for christmas. he has been walking around showing everyone his new tattoos and pirate stuff.

I bought this for my wife's 38th birthday. If you like ye old pirates and enjoy having fun, this book is for you!

My son really enjoys having this book. I would recommend it for any child 4 or older as some of it is more difficult for the younger ages,, but a must buy to go along with the book.

My students loved the activities and ideas in this book. They were able to compete some of the activities on their own. We continue to enjoy the book and probably will for years to come.
