The Vs. System 2PCG is a card game where 2-4 players each build a deck of Characters, Plot Twists, and Locations, and try to knock out their opponents. Each Vs. System set comes with a full playset of cards so you'll have everything you need to play the full game right out of the box. If you never played the original Vs. System, don't worry: You'll pick it up fast. And If you've played original Vs. you'll find that some parts of the game have been streamlined or changed in order to make it easier to learn, faster to play, and more fun to battle.

not as good as the original
OK it is fair to say that the VS system PCG is a good beginner friendly and simplified version of the original TCG without the gatcha element, which is great for any new Marvel fans who are looking for a good card game with their favorite heroes. Whether it will be a 1 v 1 fights or 2v2s the VS System 2PCG plays great, it is not nearly as smooth as the original but there are a few new cool mechanics like main characters replacing the endurance from the original which have the ability to level up into even more powerful versions of the chosen main character as the game progresses. Another change is the way locations work now they give a direct bonus of X resource which can be used by your characters, the plot twists are simplified as well. When it comes to combat the game has lost a lot compared to the original TCG there is a lot of room for exploits of ranged units, the power balance between supporting characters and their cost isn't there either(that may change with future expansions), but for now there is only a slight power difference between each character which can be compensated with twists easy, gone are the synergies between cards and the overcomplicated but cool combinations you can do between your characters and/or twists. For the games price, I believe it is a great buy.

The Return of the Mack
It’s back! Or maybe this is the first time for you. If so, welcome aboard to the all-new & improved (debatable I know) VS System! First off please note that the format has changed on this game. Originally it was released as a CCG. But now it’s non collectible. Following an ECG or LCG format. You just buy the box and you get a play set of every card. That’s a definite improvement. So what do you get in the box? 400 cards, and some tokens you will use to keep track of damage, XP, and 1/1 counters. This game hits the ground running. You have 4 excellent and exciting teams to build with. The Avengers, X-men, Guardians of the Galaxy, and a villain team. Each has their own tricks and synergies. The game plays really easily and straightforward. For the non CCG or LCG player, it might take you a bit to get used to all the different options you have. But it comes easily enough through practice. Now some things have changed from the original game. Instead of attacking the other player (and winning by reducing their endurance to 0) you both bring a main character to the game. Once they are defeated it’s game. These characters are strong and can even level up to a second level! Pretty cool. Also the plot twists and locations work a little differently from the original game. It does make it simpler. But that’s not a bad thing in my opinion. There are two reasons though why I won’t give this game a full five star rating. First is the quality of the game. The cards are of a decent stock. But pure garbage in the quality department. Pulling them out of the box I was shocked that nearly EVERY card has white on the edges! They look played and abused right out of the box. That’s a horrible knock against it in my book.Secondly, the original appeal of the VS System was that it was superheroes and only superheroes. Marvel versus DC. Well, this isn’t going to be like that. Upper Deck currently doesn’t have a DC license. Ok, so no big deal. At least we get Marvel right? But if the rumors are true they plan on adding their other licenses to it. Like Aliens and Firefly. Now I’m a huge Firefly fan. But never have I wondered in any of my day dreams if Wash could beat Magneto in a fight. I’m sure he couldn’t. But I think it is doing the game a major disservice if they add anything to it other than super heroes. But this is just speculation so we shall see.PROS:Superheroes!Bringing a classic game backFast paced and relatively easy to learnGood artworkNot a CCG anymore!Cons:Slightly “dumbed down” rulesHorrible low quality card stock!Possible release of cards that won’t theme well with Marvel setSo overall I can still recommend this game. Even if they didn’t release anything else for it, this is a fun game right out of the box. GRADE: B-

Good fun game, not as great as I'd hoped, and somewhat disappointed with the quality.
Definitely a cute game, but I was disappointed by the quality of the card stock and art work. Also that there are 4 copies of each card, bringing the actual number of unique cards down from what I was expecting. I did think some of the powers reflected the theme pretty nicely (eg. hulk gaining xp when hit), and had a fun couple of games, but I did expect a little bit more.

Great Deck Building Game
Recently bought this game b/c I heard it had really taken off after the first few expansions. I have to say this game has been a real surprise with all the expansions and community support. I love the tactical nature of deck building and if you like MTG, then this will be right up your alley.

Fun to play but cardboard components seem to be low quality compared to sister game Legendary
Mechanics-wise, it's fun and quick. Components-wise, the cardboard is somewhat thin and cheap - the edges seemed chipped at the edges. Nice art on the cards.

No Mana problems
I like the fact that this game has keywords like magic the Gathering but solves the resource system that is a problem in Magic.

Great buy
Bought this as a gift for my boyfriend who loves card games & Marvel. I've never played a playing card game in my life and the rule book broke it down for me and helped me learn pretty quickly.
