Fabulously fun!
Cannot WAIT for Neverseen ! I'm reading this with my 11 year old daughter who loves it. Warning: POSSIBLE SPOILERS! Book 3 was not as fun to read as 1 and 2, especially with the constant reminders of what happened in book 1 and book 2 strewn throughout the book ... sometimes paragraphs were copied from 1 and 2 word for word and plopped into book 3. That ... was intensely annoying. BUT! The story is really great. There's a lot about how hard it can be to make friends, and especially to trust them once you have made them. A lot. Also, there's a well explored concept of what it means to be a parent, and how tempting it can be to exploit a person, a child even, for their gifts whether it's appropriate or not. Often as I read this, I was surprised at the story line of how the parents/adults dealt with their children or problems. I like that it's not easy to distinguish good guys and bad guys in this series all the time. There's a lot about politics, grief, restraint, being restrained, self-restraint, bad parenting through grief, there's so much. I also loved the Harry Potter series as did my 11 year old, but this series has a much deeper development of the characters' motivations, origins, and especially of the relationships between them which I really like. I don't like how easy it is for everyone to forget that the main character is barely 12 years old. Knowing how my 11 year old deals with stress at times, I can barely believe the writer expects so much from someone so young without them totally losing it. Or, maybe my 11 year old is just er uh, behind in her coping with problems! LOL. Great book .... very fun.

Exciting fantasy slowed down by bland heroine.
This series is enjoyable. The Lost Cities is strange, dangerous and yet endearing. The action moves along as more mysteries and fantasies tumble out. Sophie (heroine, telepath and a whole bunch of other magical powers) muddles her way through the wonderful background. However, she's the most unlikable YA heroine I've met. Keefe, Fitz, Dex and Biana contain more depth. I believe kids will love the series. Messenger fails on the delivery of Sophie. Sorry.

Amazing Third Book!
Wow! I ***LOVED*** this book! I read it one day, it was that good. The characters were great. More than once I giggled out loud, which is good for me. And yes, I cried too. This book felt darker than the previous few. If you are looking for a book with a strong, clever heroine, (who can be friends with good-looking boys without getting *too* mushy), who solves her problems without whining about them, and pulls you in to a fast-paced adventure filled with surprises, this is the *best* option. Shannon Messenger just keeps getting better. Keeper of the Lost Cities was already my favorite when I read it the first time, then Exile came out, and Everblaze!!!...it topped everything. I would recommend this to anyone and everyone. --------------------------------------**Spoilers beyond this line**------------------------------ Kenric's death was incredibly sad. But it shows a growing point in in the series. It takes guts to kill off a character the right way. Especially one that you've allowed the characters to bond with. Compare it to the first few Percy Jackson books. Percy's mother, Tyson, Thalia, and to some extent, Annabeth all were pronounced dead, and then, surprise! they're alive. Also, the betrayal of Keefe's mom. This is where I find a *gasp* fault. It was a great plot twist, and a surprising betrayal, but it seems it was only a surprise because we only 'met' Keefe's mother in this book. Other than that, I'm blind to any faults. All in all, amazing!

I really recommend this book! Itโs not too gory or scary, but itโs so engaging and I couldnโt put it down. Definitely worth reading whenever you get the chance

Kids favorite book series
Got this on my 12-year-old daughter who is usually not a big reader. However, she is very much in love with the series and has not put the book down at all. She absolutely loves it. She can read it for hours. She loves the sore story. She also read the graphic novel of the first book 1st the other book has so much more detail so if you have a preteen this is a great series.

Fantastisch boek, verschrikkelijke verzending
