Perfect game for all (adults that is)!!
This is a really fun game! My group is not usually into rpg type games where you do damage and have to think about your moves in advance. We always play stupid, funny party games like CAH, utter nonsense, funemployed, and disturbed friends. The quality of our experience is usually dictated by how hard we laugh. And this game was a perfect mix! ESWOTBW:DAMS has the illustrations that kept us intrigued from the start. Every card is funny. And the spell combinations are also goofy to read in your best wizard voice. Even though we dropped the wizard voices about halfway through it was fun to try different voices and read the spells. And for a group that doesn't play games that take even a hint of preparation for your move esw was perfectly simple enough to sit down and understand in a round. A great game for adults of any game level! Whether you are hardcore and want a light fun turn based card game or are a party gamer and want something a bit more involved it has it all. Next up is to buy the sequel and expand my deck!

Chaotic time waster
Incredible game. First, if you are looking for a strategy game, this is not one. It is a complete slug fest with random battle rounds, which just happens to be pleasantly fun. The art work is great, and it's a real refreshing style in game mechanics. I love how the art work and spell names line up. Second, this is not my normal genre. For me, as said previously, this was a complete random slug-fest among friends and family. The game is random. There is little skill to be had, just a little planning. However, even sore losers are not sore at the end of this game. And although I dislike games that are not strict strategy, and I dislike majority of dice incorporated games, this game is great fun. The dice are elegantly used, so the rolls feel like a table top structure, rather than the game being built around dice. Finally, yes I gave it five stars. It's a great piece to add to my already very large game collection for something that is fast, about in hour long. It's best with 4 to 6 players, anything less than 4 players is not as fun. It's definitely a social game--you know one of those games no one takes seriously, so there is more concentration on conversation than the game.

I don't know how I ever lived without this.
My favorite game to date. We saw this on an episode of Table Top and knew instantly we needed this game. My husband and I have a blast playing it. Well I enjoy blasting him to bits anyway. He hasn't beaten me yet. We also got our 13 year old nephew in on this and it's his favorite game too. The rules are not at all complex. You just build spells with 1-3 cards and last man standing wins the game. Be warned though that the more people that play, the longer the game will be. (Obviously.) But there is a bit of time spent setting up spells, picking your targets and strategy. If I play with my nephew and husband and we play first to three wins takes the crown, the game can take upwards of an hour or more sometimes. The humor in the cards is pretty hilarious as well. If you like games like Exploding Kittens, Joking Hazard or Munchkin, you will enjoy this game too. Art is very much like the show Rick and Morty. Be warned there is a lot of adult humor in this game... not something for young children or those that do not like more risky adult themed content.

Lots of laughs and spells for the new to seasoned gamers!
HOLY WOW. This game opened me up to tabletop gaming. I've never had so much fun playing a non-video game. Back when I was a kid, I was so turned off to tabletop games because of Monopoly and mischievous siblings n cousins who always managed to "win"... resulting in many losses for me. This game was easy for me to pick up and play. It took a couple rounds for me to figure out that I really needed some sort of strategy and I just started to have a night full of laughter with good friends. The artwork of the cards are fun and innovative. As you build a spell from the cards, the comedy and art blends in pretty well for some amusing visuals. My buddy had them all in card protectors. I've been playing mine without them (even around adult beverages) and they are holding up pretty well. This is definitely a fun game! I have even introduced other new gamers with this game, and it's always a fun time!

Fun game, love the art
This game is a blast and fairly easy to play once you get the basics down. I love the art style, reminds me of Superjail and Adventure Time. Customizing your spells is a lot of fun and adds a compelling component to the game that makes you want to play it again and again. The first time I played we had a group of 5, and it took about 2 hours to decide a winner. I suspect once you have the game mechanics down and start to get better at building your spells the games will be quicker. The game is broken up into matches, and you have to win 2 matches to win the whole game, so game length also depends on the luck and skill of individual players. Like the other reviewer mentioned, some of the content is slightly risque, so yo might not want your younger kids to play, but the game does specify a recommended age of 15 and up (this is in the Amazon description, and in the game's physical rule book).

Gross and Silly, Juvenile humor for all
This game absolutely must be played with three or more people, as it isn't balanced at ALL for two. The more players the better, actually, as the effects on the cards take on more meaning when more players are in the game. The flavor text on the "introduction to Epic Spell Wars" is delightfully gruesome and dark for what promised to be a silly little card game, and it makes the game take on a new meaning when you may not, in-world at least, want to be the last wizard standing. The humor is gross-out, juvenile style, and the artwork matches. Subtle, this game isn't, but then why are you looking for subtlety in a game called Epic Spell Wars? It's a fast paced game that can go for multiple rounds or just a quick one-off, as you choose. The combination of spells is seriously varied, since you can use 1, 2, or 3 card combinations in a variety of ways, and that dictates your strategy in the game. Will you try to match the "type" of magic required? Go for a fast-acting spell? Or a slower but more deadly combination? There is also an element of chance, since dice do come into play. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this for anyone below mid-teens, just because of some of the genitalia based plays on words. But if you've got a group with a short attention span and a lust for blood, this game just might fit.

I highley recommend this game for your colection
I have started my own little board game collection and started having both family, and friend game nights on a weekly basis. Epic Spell Wars of the Battle Wizards was the newest addition to my collection. While the game can be a little complicated to learn, it's fantastic to play. The art is goofy and makes the game humors as do the spells themselves. Every game night I also have at least one person ask to play this because its so fun. The game is well thought out and can be played with up to 8 people which is great for party environments. Some of the art on the cards can be a little to violent for kids so I wouldn't recommend this be played with kids unless you take those cards out. The game can also take long depending on your number of players, to win a player must be the last wizard standing twice, but this can be rectified by implementing your own sudden death rules when everyone is getting tired of playing.

A very fun game with a bit of naughty humor
This game is a great game to take to your next game party or game night. Pretty easy to pick up, very entertaining, and with a decent depth of strategy to keep you excited for the next round, next spell, and next effect. You will be both laughing at, with, and cursing at your friends in a good natured battle to the death in this game. My advice is to fully embrace your inner Harry Potter and really belt out the spell names like you are trying to counter curse the dark lord himself

Juego Divertido
El juego llegó a tiempo, en buen estado. El juego es divertido, ya lo había jugado con amigos y siempre quise adquirirlo por mi cuenta, lo recomiendo totalmente. Ojalá en algún futuro añadan las reglas en varios idiomas.
