Tea Kettle with Thermometer, Gooseneck Pour Over, 28oz, Brushed

I've been using this a couple months. It's worth the buy. Temperature guage, stainless steel, ergonomic handle and goose neck: it's a super deal. I scorched it once in a terrible milk chai idea - DO NOT attempt to make milk brews in this, the milk will boil over and burn in the pot very swiftly. It cleaned up just fine with some elbow grease and went back to duty. Water only! Be careful about opening the lid while it's hot. Sometimes I space out and let the temp go too hot. Then I stupidly open the hatch to cool the temp faster because I'm impatient. This pot retains heat very well and steam can burn, so just be patient and don't do what I've done lol. Or if you do decide to be stupid, use oven mitts and lean back. The hear retaining quality means water will stay warm between brews. I'm a big fan if multiple 8 oz cups back to back, so be careful refilling. I've gotten very deep into tea very fast, and even have "tea friends" many years into the hobby to help me search for kit. I'll say this, something of this quality for the price is probably the only buy short if a very pricey Breville temp control, automated brewer - that will be a $300 investment. I might get one some day, but really, I don't NEED that when I have this little kettle. This $30 product does a great job with just a bit of attention. I'll probably buy a spare for other places I travel too frequently.

Wonderful kettle! Heats water quickly- handle stays cool.

I was looking for a small size stainless teapot and this is perfect and meets my needs. It heats the water quickly and I really like the temperature gauge. There are no leaks and it pours the water without making a mess. I found it a bit difficult to remove the lid so I filed the bumps on the lid and that did the trick.

I think this pot is great. I read one review where the poster complained about the holes in the lid and said it was a stupid design. Too bad they didn’t pay attention in school so they’d understand how steam works. Another said his leaked. Mine doesn’t. Maybe how got the one made on. Friday afternoon. I don’t think it has anything to do with production. The water heats quickly. The thermometer is a great idea. The only criticism I can give is the way the handle is positioned, it gets hot from the burner. I use a oven mitt to pour. More of a nice to have vs a have to have for me. I’m keeping the pot so it must not bother me that much. I paid about $12 USD for mine. Definitely worth it

There's a lot to like about the Chefbar Tea Kettles Stovetop with Thermometer Gooseneck Kettle. It's a good size, small enough that it boils quickly. If you're trying to make enough coffee for a crowd you're probably not using a pour-over kettle anyway, so this small size correctly targets the 2-4 cups. I can pre-wet my filter, pour, and even rinse out the pot afterwards. The pouring action is smooth and controlled, and the kettle feels well balanced. Even full it's still light, and the handle is comfortable. I did notice the handle got hot if the kettle was centered over a gas burner, but by placing the kettle on the side of the burner with the handle entirely off of the flames it stayed a fine temperature. The handle didn't overheat at all on an electric stovetop. The biggest problem is one other reviewers have noticed: when getting anywhere close to a boil water will spurt violently out of the gooseneck spraying scalding water on your kitchen, your stove, and everything else in sight. I can't tell why some seem to have no issue with this while others do, but my best guess is that a high-heat flame burner creates larger bubbles while boiling? Maybe the kettle doesn't boil out the gooseneck if on a lower (slower) heat or on an electric range. SOLUTION: I spent about 5 minutes with a pen knife and a cork and make a stopper for the gooseneck which works perfectly. It will now boil without splashing. (It will still splash out the steam vent but only if filled to within an inch of the top.) This fix shouldn't be necessary, but it's a cheap and quick fix for an otherwise fine and inexpensive kettle. Certainly worth fixing over returning it! UPDATE: MROCO contacted me and offered another kettle to see if it had the same issue. The second one does splash a little, but only if I leave it boiling hard on a high heat. As long as I turn the heat off when it gets around boiling it's fine. 5 stars for customer service and 4 stars for a lightweight gooseneck kettle that is a pleasure to pour with.

Everyday use. Durability, handle temperature

While the design is very appealing , the actual product was difficult to use.Had this for 2 months, at which point the lid became difficult to lift. Pulling from the knob caused the temperature filament to pull out , rendering the thermometer and lid unusable.

It’s a little smaller than your standard kettle, but holds plenty of water for a full pot of tea + a cup, which is as much as I ever make at once. The thermometer is a pretty neat addition, especially if you make teas that aren’t meant to be brewed at a full-on boil. It’s very esthetically pleasing, and I would buy it again! If there’s any gripe to be had, the handle can get rather hot despite the plastic on account of it being a rather hard plastic which conducts the heat a little more than you’d expect; however not enough to be too much of a nuisance, and only when you really fill the pot up, so that’s just me looking for a negative. All in all, it’s great!
